I think Cotto fights N'Jikam. Seems like his heart his set on becoming the first fighter from PR to conquer 4 weight divisions.

Unless Cotto is dead set on becoming a 4 division titlist by fighting for N'Jikam's paper title, he will be fighting Canelo Alvarez in December.

GBP has already discussed terms with Cotto and his team, the money and magnitude of the fight would eclipse a N'Jikam fight and he can still fight him afterward, win or lose.

The fight could've happened in September if Cotto would've made himself available for it. Since he rejected it, Canelo's September fight will be to keep Canelo busy and slightly increase his profile.

All my points on Canelo, when Canelo-Cotto happens...

People actually listen to that guy?

Thats the best case scenario for GBP. Both parties IMO.

Personally, I'm a big Cotto fan but don't think he can beat Canelo in a 12 round fight.

Hopefully, it would be a good fight, do you really think Golden Boy will risk losing their cash cow? He hasn't fought anyone good yet (they must think Cotto is washed-up/ too small and slow). Canelo would have a hard time winning a decision in NY vs Cotto. Cotto would have a shot, but Canelo is probably to big for Cotto and he will wear him down winning late by KO.

They couldnt keep discussions with Cottos camp this secretive unlike someone with a lower profile and maybe from another country.

I think team Canelo wants that fight but team Cotto does not want it so it won't happen. I hope I am wrong because it would be a great fight and a big event.
