Taylor was an exceptional fighter as was Chavez. Khan is lucky there are not fighters like them around today. Taylor would destroy Khan even he would have difficulty in coming out with excuses because it would be one sided.Comment

Saying Meldrick Taylor was the same after Chavez is like saying Roy was the same after Tarver because Roy beat Trinidad, Lacy, Shieka and Hanshaw.Last edited by BoxingGenius27; 07-06-2012, 12:50 PM.Comment

And nobody brings up the fact that he struggled against Brown and Garcia post Chavez. Meldrick Taylor was never the same after that fight.Comment

You do know that his bouts with Shieka and Hanshaw were for the title right?
So to answer your question, yes, Roy won a title AFTER Tarver.
In your book and based off your standards, I guess that makes Roy legit post Tarver right?
Titles mean Jack schit. Just look at Canelo's title from Matthew Hatton.Last edited by BoxingGenius27; 07-06-2012, 01:17 PM.Comment

I never said he was the same post-Chavez. I said he was still a good fighter for a couple years afterwards, certainly better than the overrated Khan.Comment

I agree. I remember watching the fight live. It was a pivotal fight and Taylor was never quite himself after it. The post Chavez Taylor would be too much for Khan but the pre Chavez Taylor was a phenom.Comment

Taylor also had a win over Glenwood Brown post-Chavez. It really wasn't until the Terry Norris fight that you could honestly say that Taylor was finished as a legit fighter.
