Unfortunately the Chavez fight ruined Taylor. But if that was Amir Khan fighting Taylor in 1990 instead of Chavez, Khan would get knocked out for sure. Khan does not have the power to literally destroy someone like Chavez did, and Taylor's speed and toughness would be too much. Also Khan doesn't fight well on the inside.
Taylor was still good for a little while after Chavez, even scoring the 2nd best win of his career a year after that fight. He was a far better fighter than Khan is at this point, and most likely, better than Khan will ever be.

Both quick. Taylor got better skills more tools, it wouldn't even be close.

I've seen Taylor look incredible against a truly great fighter. I've never seen that from Khan.

Taylor by knockout, I think it would be a pretty good fight though.

This is a 50/50 fight. Both extremely fast, have the same/similar boxing skills and brains.

khan's a runner who fights in flurries

taylor had FOOTWORK and he could box. smart footwork.

                    taylor via stoppage.

the only advantage khan would have is his size. he's much taller and much longer.
                    everything else favors taylor.
