Felix Trinidad proved himself to be arguably the best MW in the world at the time.

He was clearly, absolutely effective at 160. He proved that.

There is absolutely no doubt that Hopkins win over Trinidad is head and shoulders above Calzaghe's Kessler win.

It looks like you are the one who can't argue, hence re posting someone else's post instead of offering your own.

Kessler is a better win than Tito imo after that its really splitting hears both runs are riddled with sub par opposition its funny how people crap on Joes reign but act like Hopkins was stellar lol there both poor and it is close.

        Absolutely not.

        Not even close.

Except that Kessler was a fraud and not a real big-league opponent.

Good to see the poll widen like it should. Had me worried for a second.

I don't get the Hopkins hate on this site. He fought his way to the top the way a boxer should. He managed himself, beat numerous top 10 middleweight contenders and when getting the opportunity to face Trinidad, he put him away with pure ease.

And the point about Hopkins not using his size advantage I'm sorry I don't buy it at all fighting somebody naturally bigger stronger and heavier it takes its toll. bullying someone and physically roughing them up is not the only way a naturally bigger man can use size to his advantage.
It's not a poor comparison. It's actually an almost perfect comparison.

In an early post you talked about how Tito was 13 Lbs above his prime weight. Well, so was Hearns.

Both Tito and Hearns are natural WW's who moved up to MW and carried there weight well at MW and beat top opposition at MW.

there was nothing that needed to be said after that. the fact that u felt the need to continue with ur drivel, which is clearly not supported by the facts, says more about u than me.

tito destroyed and ko'd joppy something hopkins was able to do. if not for hopkins tito would have easily been the unified MW champ, he was clearly the 2nd best mw at the time.

first off hopkins was never physically bullied by anyone cuz his defense would never allow it, which is what he did against tito he made him miss and beat him to the punch. if tito was landing consistently maybe ud have a point but that wasn't the case as hopkins put on a boxing clinic and never allowed tito to get in any kind of rhythm. simply put hopkins out boxed and out smarted tito.

Again no Tito didn't do much at 160 who's his best win Joppy? Tito was never a real 160lb fighter i see no point in going back and forth Kessler has achieved more at his natural weight class than Tito did at 160. Tito had 5 fights at 160 he was dominated in 2 of those fights.

Just because Tito is a greater fighter it does not make it a greater win simply because Tito was well north of his best weight class.

Arguably the best, at the time.

There's a reason he was a heavy favourite.

I for one, expected Tito to win the fight.
