Kessler was never that great of a fighter lets be honest. Good solid fighter but not a great fighter like Tito.

Titos greatness is irrelevant because he did not achieve his greatness at 160. Kessler is a better 168lbs fighter than Tito a 160lb fighter its that simple.

How people can fail to factor in the huge weight advantage is beyond me although your avatar explains it to a good extent.

Kessler has fought and beat better opponents at 168 than tito ever did at 160. Yeah you are right Joe was the slight favorite I was getting confused with Lacey who was favorite against Joe just goes to show the bookies do make big mistakes from time to time.

Is this even a serious question? It's Hopkins in every single way possible.

well calzaghe chose to stay at home and not fight the best for much of his career. so he only has himself to blame when people look back at his record and are not thrilled with it.

How can tito's greatness be irrelevant, that's exactly what we have to go on. Was Hearns' greatness irrelevant when Hagler knocked him out? Of course not, that would be silly.

As I mentioned hopkins didn't overpower tito, he didn't physically bully him around the ring, he didn't use any size advantage. Hopkins picked tito apart with superior boxing skills and defense, not power. It was a masterful display of boxing skills on hopkins part, not brute force.

That's just nonsense it really is Tito was never a true 160lb fighter you only have to look at his body to realize that Hearns was able to carry his weight much better than Tito poor comparison.

And the point about Hopkins not using his size advantage I'm sorry I don't buy it at all fighting somebody naturally bigger stronger and heavier it takes its toll. bullying someone and physically roughing them up is not the only way a naturally bigger man can use size to his advantage.

^Hearns went on to win a title at light heavy. And yes the weight mattered. It's part of why Tito couldn't control the fight physically and Hopkins wasn't that phased by Tito's power.

Hopkins also beat HOF'er and undefeated Felix Trinidad.

It's really not close at all.

and if u understand that smw had always been and was the weaker division until recently, theres no way, u can argue it was close.
