So, that means the McCloskey fight was made in early to mid-February...to give Khan his 8 weeks.....or earlier, which means he agreed to fight McCloskey before Bradley even fought Alexander.

He still only had to wait a month or so for Bradley to be ready to fight again and escape his contract under Shaw. The fight could have been made in late May but Shaw wanted it in July so that he could trap Bradley in another 2 year contract.

Khan had a shot, he chose another path...it's easy to remember one line quoted by a guy when it benefits your cause.
Can you show me something where it states that if Bradley fought Khan in July that he would have to sign a 2 year contract with Shaw on top of that?

If you can provide this, I will retract my statement that Bradley ducked Khan.

And "My cause" I am no more an Amir Khan fan than I am a Tim Bradley fan.

A few things in there I was unaware of.

But, I'm still lost on why he couldn't fight Khan and then leave.

Perhaps it wasn't a one more fight contract but surely they could have worked out a deal that lead to just having the Khan fight? After all, Bradley said July was the date. So what was he expecting?

Could he not have fought Khan and then signed with TR? Was this an impossible outcome or not? That's an honest question.

And as for the last part of your post. I've said this a million times. Not for a second do I think Bradley is afraid of Khan. I don't think Bradley is afraid of anyone.

I know that Bradley walked away from Khan in good intentions. He walked away because he wanted Pacquaio, everyone knows that.

My problem is, that fight wasn't guarnteed to him. And I simply don't consider that a justifiable reason to walk away from a big fight like that.

If Bradley was guaranteed Pacquaio, however. I'd be over the moon he walked away from Khan. But, he wasn't.
If I remember correctly, and I'll be honest I can't say 100% if this was the case or not - but I THINK the issue was that when Bradley signed the extension for the Alexander fight, it was done in # of months and not in # of fights.... I think at the time the contract was extended until June of 2011. Khan at that time already had a date reserved to fight in July, and that's why Shaw was trying desperately to get Bradley to sign ANOTHER extension. Shaw, I'm sure was kicking himself by missing such a big fight FOR HIMSELF by one month - and when Bradley was not agreeable, Shaw took his mouth to the big stage and started talking ****, which I'm sure sealed the deal for Bradley to say **** Shaw. By this time, Top Rank was already in Bradley's ear, knowing he wouldn't be extending his contract, they wanted to get him under their banner. That's when, I believe, the whole 'what if I lose' statement came about. But that was only after everything had already fallen apart with Shaw for a Bradley/Khan fight in July, I think. So, Bradley had to sit around until after his June extension date, and his contract had run out with Shaw. I don't recall when exactly it was that Bradley made that statement (sometime in that sitting out period) .... I could be fairly certain however that it was sometime AFTER Top Rank had already put a bug in Timmy's ear about Pac, but Bradley couldn't say anything about TR until after his contract had run out with Shaw.

You are pushing it pretty hard there for a "neutral party". I'm not going to go looking for articles, that's what Tim said.

Khan already got KO'd and was afraid to rematch Prescott...would have been an easy win too IMO. Tim went to England to fight the hometown champ, fought the number 1 ranked guy in Alexander, sat out almost a year to get a better contract and have a shot at fighting the boxer of the decade.

I don't see him doing all of that just to avoid fighting Khan. In any case my man, he said he wants Khan next.....if that fight doesn't happen next, we'll definitely know where to look.

          So no then?

Pushing what? That Tim ducked Khan? I just call it how I see it. If the roles were reversed I'd say the same for Khan.

          I don't get your point.

What does Khan getting knocked out by Prescott have to do with anything?

What does who either of them fought have to do with anything?

Both were far and beyond the best fighters at 140.

He didn't do it "just to duck Khan" he did it because he wanted Pacquaio.

My problem is, I feel he should have fought Khan in July then pursued Top Rank in hope for a Pacquaio fight.

Bradley walked away on sheer hope he might get a Pacquaio fight. That simply isn't justifiable to me, and most.

I may give it a rest now!

It's actually the first time I've spoken on it. I've read through a lot of discussions on it (Mainly between Dirk and Dazed ) but haven't commented on it.

I'd just love to see the fight. It's got to happen to put to rest who the better guy is once and for all.
