    Could Ortiz have continued?

If he couldnt close his mouth, does that mean he couldnt have his mouth guard in, and therefore not have physically continued to fight?

I know other fighters have fought on with a broken jaw, like Ali vs Norton, but can he be called a quitter if he wasnt able to continue?

The doctor wasnt called to access his condition. Would he of stopped the fight?

I think he could have, but it's a difficult situation for a fighter.

I had him ahead by 3 points so, on my card at least, he could have simply ran out the last few rounds and still not have lost.

Who's to know?? I can't bash him for not fighting with a broken jaw though. That's not the same as just getting beat up.

Its very hard to say. I think he should've given it another round at least.

I believe Paulie Mag fought with a broken jaw in the Cotto fight. Took some great shots and he may have even won a few rounds with a broken jaw.

He probably could have, but not fighting on with a broken jaw is still a smart move and doing that while being ahead on the cards takes balls and heart on its own, but most keyboard heroes won't get this.

Ortiz doesn't like getting hit yet he fights in a way that ensures that he will get hit. Time to change your style ortiz if you want to continue in this sport

He quit i dont think he should have continued but at the sametime thats what makes a great fighter he was a few punches away from stopping lopez do to that eye,if he sucks it up and fights the tenth Ortiz wins by ko.

He quit when his own corner thought he should go on the kid clearly lacks heart.
