Manny could've written his own ticket some time ago. Yuri rolled the dice and came up a winner. That took guts, and faith in his own judgment and that of his advisors.

I didn't believe for a second that Gamboa was ducking Rios, or afraid of fighting him. I'm still not crazy about the way Yuri handled the affair. However, the fact that Top Rank is agreeing to let Gamboa go is pretty good evidence that Yuri's actions were contractually motivated. A thirty-year-old fighter of his caliber wouldn't risk his career out of fear for one man.
