IMO the only good thing for Gamboa in this is that he gets back into the ring quicker.

How can people say he got a good deal? He paid a "HUGE" fee and he probably will be paying TR on the side, plus his new promo company. My guess is GBP.

How much was Gamboa getting for Rios again?

A thirty-year-old fighter of his caliber wouldn't risk his career out of fear for one man.
bro ,was a big fan of gamboa till the rios debacle and him not saying anything at that point ( like hiding) gave me the lasting impression that he was not serious about the challenge.let's see what he does next.

People can't expect Gamboa to go straight into fighting a Broner right away at 130, but I hope he'll fight a good fighter in sort of a tune up this year first.

He should sign with Golden Boy or Mayweather, and fight someone like Miguel Beltran Jr, Argenis Mendez, Bryan Vazquez in his return at 130. Than, fight Salgado for the IBF title. Than, fight Broner.

Like I said, I'm not wild about the way Yuri handled the whole issue. I, too, wanted to hear more from him about the affair. There was a Spanish-language interview where Gamboa made some general statements about dropping out of the Rios fight and his beef with Top Rank. However, when you think about it, how much could he safely say about an ongoing contractual dispute?

As for the actual challenge, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Yuri chose to back out at the last minute in an attempt to pressure Top Rank into giving in to some of his demands. Sounds crazy, but no crazier than his actions.

The Buy out sounds like a huge figure. They made money out of him, instead of waste months/years dis*****g it.

                    Swaped fighters

They probably did some kind of trade off. TR just signed Jessie Vargas and now Gamboa is going to Mayweather's camp
