Bradley turned down the biggest fight of his life and the biggest payday of his life, got ridiculed as a result and he wasn't even injured. Now he's fighting an even bigger fight and even more money in manny pacquiao. Who's the idiot now?

Sometimes you need to look at the bigger picture and if Kirkland is thinking about his long term career rather than the short term, imo that's being smart. Don't fight a fight unless you're 100%.

      are you kidding me?

then pull him and never give him another fight and see how he likes no money

he signed and agreed and bailed and now he should be shunned

Kirkland shouldn't get anymore than 2 million at the most. If he honestly doesn't feel ready to fight Alvarez by September, than he should fight the Powell-Rosado winner in October or November, and than fight Alvarez after that or something.

My thing is why the f cuk is Team Canelo going after an injured opponent when they have the option of:

          1. Waiting til October/November like Kirk asked.

          2. Fighting Lara

It's one thing if Kirkland hasn't been saying he's been injured for the last few months, but he has. The man has said he's been injured since the Molina fight; that's why Canelo was going to fight Williams instead.

              sorry...NOT BUYING THE CANELO HYPE!

and by the way that is not to defend Kirkland either, he is not that good himself, he is just another Brawler with NO BOXING SKILLS, both would lose to any of the other top fighters at 154
Canelo stops Kirkland and he'll likely beat Lara at this stage...the kid is not hype. Mosley thought he would just go to to toe with him and beat him but he learned that wasn't going to happen.

                  1. because the whole reason for the Sept fight is to fight on Mexican Independence Day (weekend).

                  2. Too risky. Obviously if they are going to pick Trout over Lara show's they want nothing to do with Lara, as Lara has been on HBO/Showtime before and more people know Lara than they do Trout.

That's just crazy though....Canelo is not big enough yet to warrant multi-million dollar paydays for fighting him and holding out for anyone else at this point will net him peanuts in comparison. Just not a good business move from a financial standpoint.

If they ever make Lara-Alvarez, which I highly doubt because they don't really need to, I'd bet my house on Lara.

I see them having Alvarez fight Kirkland, Trout/Rodriguez, Powell/Rosado, and Bundrage in his next few fights. And than they'll make the Cotto fight next year. And if he gets through those fights, and it's a tough schedule, he'll fight Floyd.

They SHOULD have Alvarez-Lara, but it doesn't really NEED TO happen.
