I would like to think Canelo is just stepping up more and more. I think he's a very fine fighter and you know, it's time to sink or swim.

maybe they felt they weren't quite ready or maybe they didn't want to take the risk at that point or both.

I like Canelo and I think choosing Williams was a big step up, a big test for him, as was Kirkland, so I think he's moving in the right direction.

I thought Williams would've possibly beat Canelo even though after the Lara fight everyone and their mother was asking for Williams to retire; myself included. I have the thread to prove it.

I think Canelo has talent also and think he wants to step up. I just want him to step up against healthy fighters.

But to say Williams was the best available besides Cotto, I'd have to disagree. It was a good step up for Canelo giving his latest opposition, but if we're going to talk about the best in the division giving the options Canelo had, Williams wasn't one of them.

How does Williams go from being mentioned in the same sentence as RJJ (needs to retire) after the Lara fight to beating Ishida and he's now the best in the division again?

Sergio martinez was supposed to be fighting chavez jr on mex ind day....but we all know that is NOT going to happen, martinez can make 154lb EASILY.
Canelo vs Maravilla. Sergio might be able to grab a WBC belt after all against a very protected undefeated mexican fighter!

Wishful thinking but I'm all for Canelo unifying. If he can pull it off that is. We need more champs fighting champs. I know financially these guys can go fight nobodies but the sports needs more fights between these "champs". Clear out the division.

Canelo isnt worth PPV money yet, He hasn't fought nobody in there prime, Kirkland isnt worth PPV either... I understand Mexicans paying but anyone else with sense wouldnt pay to watch this fight.

sorry I meant kirkland was the best available since Williams fight is off. which isn't entirely true either Lara is the best available opponent, but for a ppv I think kirkland is mire known.

at least he's letting them no now versus later like Gamboa. the report of Williams just came out on monday, kirkland was mentioned as a possible opponent the next day and today he's saying he's not ready. pretty damn quick so lets not act like its been hyped up for weeks or months, its been one day.
Do you have reading comprehension problem? the aticle clearly says he is not injured, he is clear to fight you ******.....man I hate this idiots bias fans, trying to make excuses for their fighters.

This right here. Molina outboxed him in his last fight and now he's askin for a bigger payday? Hearing this made me laugh.
