You make some good points but if 40 million is a joke then let PAC go fight somebody else and make that type of money. Now my only question is who can he possibly make 40 million fighting other then Mayweather? I can't think of one person he could make 40 million fighting.

Kind of a bittersweet day in Pacland. Floyd gets locked up, but Forbes calls him the world's highest paid athlete and Kevin Iole puts out a nice summary that clearly shows blame to everyone involved.Comment

You can make an argument for maybe 52/48 split in favor of Floyd. Solely based on PPV stats. But Manny is more popular worldwide than Mayweather and he sells more tickets. So we're back to 50/50, if we're being real. And 40 million FLAT is a joke and a non-starter in the negotiating table.
I agree ESPN is not a credible source for boxing. But my point was about Stephen A. Smith, who loves Floyd and he won't even back him on the 50/50 renege.
You're all over the place, dude. Don't even try to compare Pacquiao and Mayweather when it comes to charities or their vices. It's not even worth debating.
Anyways, I hope Floyd fights again this year, wouldn't hold my breath though.Comment

At the end of the day, no one knows what Pacquiao AND Floyd really make. They both strategically inflate and deflate their earnings to the public. You have to ask yourself why is Floyd's disclosed "guarantee" 32 million and Pacquiao's disclosed guarantee only 7 or 8 million? Let's just say narcissistic people want everyone to think they're the bomb, which eventually get them in trouble with the IRS. And other shrewd money people like Arum cleverly lowball their figures to outsmart the IRS.

If their tax attorneys had their way, they wouldn't want their clients' earnings disclosed at all.Comment

I don't think Manny makes more. I don't know who makes more. I just know that earnings of celebrities, star athletes, public figures, etc. that are disclosed to the public are mostly fabricated. You can't be this naive...

With all their personal business ventures you are correct. But with a PPV event with so many parties involved (HBO, the venue, multiple promotional companies) the numbers you're looking at will be pretty reliable and straightforward. This isn't some fly by night boxing exhibition where they're trying to tear the ring down before the county tax collectors show up.
HBO does NOT guarantee fighters their purses for their PPV fights. The promoters guarantee it...and Floyd is his own boss while Golden Boy does all the promotional work. So Floyd literally writes himself a check, but he's taking all the risk, which means he has to cover everything, including what's in that check.

With his business model, Floyd is better off NOT sharing PPV percentages at all because those percentages are covering his supposed "guarantee". Hence, why he only offered Pacquiao 40 mil with NO PPV share!!Comment

Revenue and personal income are totally different. Income disclosed to the public is totally unreliable.
