No he will because he is just not on Calzaghe's level as a fighter. Come on guys! Calzaghe could fight in a variety of ways, he made adjustments. He threw 80-100 punches a round consistently through his career, super fast hand speed, underrated power, good defense, very good chin.

He never had the competition that Froch had, but he did beat (decisively) an excellent fighter in Kessler, an undefeated Kessler, who Froch went life and death with (in my opinion lost in a close one). He did also fight Hopkins when he was still one of the best p4p, and again in my opinion beat Hopkins even if he looked like **** doing it, found a way to win against a guy who pretty much tried to con his way through the fight, and cheated when the tide was going against him.

I dont think Calzaghe is on the level of Hopkins or Jones as far as status and CV, but he is certainly above Froch. Obviously you can tell I think highly of Joe, I am of the opinion that he would have been able to compete with any middleweight, super middleweight, light heavy from any era. Froch not so much. Although he is certainly one of the top guys of his era, and remember his story is still being written, but for me he just does not have the talent to be put above Calzaghe, if you consider that most of the intangibles that Froch has, ie stamina, chin, heart, toughness, Calzaghe had them also.

Out of all the guys fighting now I think only 3 could have beat him, Dirrel, Ward, and Dawson, based on the fact that they take away his speed. Thing is I think Calzaghe would outwork and outsmart Dirrel, and Dawson neither guy is all that great on the inside and I think that is where Calzaghe would fight them. I think Ward would beat Calzaghe because he is such a great all round fighter, but it would be one hell of a fight.

What followed, was one of the most one sided beat-downs ever witnessed on American soil
He was the wide underdog for a reason.

Surprised he was #6 at LHW. That has to be one of the most undeserving rankings I've ever seen.
