It's not good news for him if they've already booked a replacement. Shheeiiitt.

Most other sports Berto gets an immediate 2 year ban, lifetime in some cases.

All this is, is promoters trying to save the money and Berto trying to save his career.
Mate you need to use some common sense here, they've come out and said that they've found a metabolic byproduct of nandrolone in Berto's system
the amounts of nandrolone being in the low parts per trillion range indicating contamination not intent.

To get an idea of how much that actually is imagine a grain on salt and imagine that grain of salt being smashed over and over...that's what we're talking about here. You telling me a fighter deserves to get banned for that?

Why didnt ortiz have it in his system ?

Why are clowns defending berto ? Contaminated my ass he got busted with it still in his system More than likely took it right after the first ortiz fight then stopped couple months before training camp started .
Typical juicing cycle in boxing ^^^^ as Bj flores stated w

I wonder if the berto fans would be defending Manny Pacquiao if he was found with traces in his system lol

More questions than answers came to mind when I read this story.

          1. Could the trace elements be a product of Nandrolone mostly out of his system? For example, would the amount have been higher if they tested April 15 instead of May 9, or whatever it was.

If this was the case, the trace elements could be that it just mostly passed through his system and he still cheated.

          2. Does testing positive for contamination deserve a pass? This one is debatable. Sure he might have not willingly cheated, but he still tested positive for a banned substance...

          3. Will this save the fight? My guess is probably not.

          4. Who are these sources? I know Gabe doesn't have to give up exactly who the source is, but if it's coming from VADA themselves he could say that "sources inside VADA" which would make it a lot more credible.

If it's from Berto's lawyer or his trainer, I'm not so sure that this information would be believable. What if its just someone from Berto's camp trying to make him look better?

I think they might have acted hastily in calling the whole thing off
Bingo, what's funny is people jump to conclusions without even knowing the science behind the whole situation. Another funny thing is I doubt Ortiz even cares he just wants to whoop Berto's ass lol.

It's also a timing issue with what happened with Khan/Peterson. I'd imagine GBP were pretty p1ssed off with not being told earlier about the positive test results so they couldn’t try and salvage the card with finding a replacement.

So when it came to Berto they tried acting as fast as possible to prevent losing the date without getting all the facts. Essentially it's the fans that lose out. We've been denied a great fight.

                  No, I'm afraid you do.

Alberto Contador had 0.000000000050 grams in his system, claimed that contamination b/s too and he got a 2 year ban.

You don't know Berto was taking, when he took it, how much he took or how or if he was trying to conceal it.

You're just swallowing the accounts, spin and opinions of those who have a vested interest in seeing him fight.

Each and every athlete who has failed a steroids test has come with some excuse, this is just the latest in a long, long line of predecessors..

Read the article first people, before you make a post.

The report said Berto was tested positive for Ultra-trace amounts of Nandrolone in the low parts per trillion range and consistent with contamination not intent.

Now, try activating a little brain function and digest what that says.
