Why does Chad Dawson want a fight with Andre Ward so badly?

I can't really figure this out. I would think he would want to avenge the Pascal loss, which I think he could easily do. A rematch with Pascal in Canada would be bigger than a Ward fight anywhere in the US IMO. Andre Ward isn't really that big of a name.

Do you think it's just because there really aren't many good fights at LHW? Still, I'd think he would rather fight a few guys at LHW like Pascal and Cloud. Then maybe Ward would be ready to move up to LHW and Dawson wouldn't have to move down in weight.

I have to give Chad props though. Ward is a tough fight, especially since he is willing to drop down to 168 to fight him.

Yea it reminds me of Rios-Gamboa. Great fight but just not necessary. Now if Ward wins the Dawson going to 168 will be an excuse. If Chad wins he will have gone down to pick on a smaller guy.

It's a great fight, and I'm not against it....but I would have preferred Chad go after a top LHW. It just seems forced to me.

Exactly. If he loses, it's the weight. If he wins, it was because he fought a smaller guy. I'd like to see him fight Cloud. That would be an exciting fight. Cloud is tailor made for Dawson but it would be fun while it lasted.

Pretty much. Its one of the only money fights around his weight class and he's willing to bend over and make any concessions to get it.

but i dont get it, i swear after the first hopkins fight in which in he "had" the belt, he was calling out pascal for the rematch
