Its simple math.......

DLH - May generated 120 million in ppv revenue.
DLH received 52 million and Floyd received 25 million. 77 million total

Which is 64% of the ppv revenue.

Ortiz - May generated 78 million . They received a total of 42 million (54% of the ppv revenue)

Mosley - May generated 78 million. Total of 46 million received. (59% of the ppv revenue)

So a couple factors dictate what the ppv % pay out will be.
How much the fight generated & the guaranteed money.

If Manny accepted 40 mill flat no ppv. (Way more than he has ever made)
The assumption would be Floyd would at least receive the same guarantee of 40 million.

Based on the 64% pay out of the DLH - May fight that generated 120 million
The fight between Manny and Floyd would have to generate 125 million dollars which is roughly 2,080,000 buys.


And lets assume Floyd gets 45 million guaranteed. Fight would have to generate 131 million (est 2.2 million buys.

So what ppv money is Manny really missing out on to turn down 40 mill

No, because you have to compare apples to apples. If cotto is worth 300k, then that means manny sold 900k vs cotto and floyd 1.2mil, which would thus increase floyds value.

The commodity in any floyd fight is floyd losing. The commodity in any manny fight is him beating someone up. In a floyd manny fight the commodity is still floyd losing IMO.

Seriously...the pinoymath kills me. If we subtract ODLH-May then divide the total by the amount of rounds less it took Manny to KO Hatton. Multiplied by the number of illegitimate children both fighters have, subtract 500k buys for any Floyd card featuring a Mexican or Puerto Rican. I can be proven wrong because I don't know all the numbers. But from what we know now, there is no way manny should geta 50/50 split and no way he should only get $40 mil no ppv.

lol that went over your head. i'm just saying that it matters. well, it matters to me...when i buy a ppv fight i look at the undercards as well. if i'm not satisfied with the main bout i could still decide to buy it because i like the undercards and vice versa. i don't know about you but that's how i look at ppv cards.

well i could also bring up the pac-jmm 3 numbers vs floyd-jmm if that's the case...apples to apples. but like i said it's more complicated than that. pac and floyd, their ppv draw is growing with each fight. 2012 floyd is bigger than the 2009 floyd...the same is true with pac i think.
