Of course Floyd's 40 million dollar flat rate offer is ridiculous. His stance on that subject has changed, as well. I specifically remember him saying that he offered Manny 40 million "and we didn't even get into the ppv side", then he said "40 million is what your getting, take it or leave it", and now apparently he's looking for a 60/40 split. I'm not really sure what his actual stance is. What I do know is that his stance on the split has changed ever since Manny came out and said he'd take less money to fight Mayweather. I personally believe that Floyd is positioning himself to make a little more than Pacquiao if they ever do negotiate. Either way this whole back and forth between the two camps is tiring.

To your second point - If Manny would have agreed to the original 14 day cut off offer that Mayweather asked for then the fight would have already happened. Everything was agreed to in the original negotiations except for drug testing.

You never know because Floyd had initially started this back in 2009 by saying he should get more money than Manny .... using the same reasoning as now. The thing is that the drug testing roadblock happened so Floyd never needed to bring the revenue split anymore .... once Manny agreed to testing, Floyd moved on to this new roadblock.

the 40 million comes from the PPV money. That is where Floyd pays all his opponents. Schaeffer broke this down in a NY Times article around the time of the Ortiz/PBF fight in September.
