wouldn't the 25 dollar increase in ppv help with the inflation?

No Tyson wasn't. Louis and Ali were eons ahead of him. Ali had over 70 million people watching some of his fights on ABC in the 70s.

ive heard from a few of my elders, that when these guys fought whole blocks in new york would be quiet and would either gather around the radio or the television sets. it was that serious. would have loved to see it

Adjust these numbers to inflation otherwise it's a useless thread.

Frank Sinatra couldn't get a ticket to Ali-Frazier I and had to take pictures for Life Magazine to get in.

Adolph Hitler killed the airwaves for Louis-Schmeling II and Louis ushered in integration in sports.

Maybe, top end, 20 million people saw Tyson's biggest fights live.

Tyson was huge. Louis and Ali were Jordan level sports stars.

Brock Lesnar vs Mike Tyson would shatter these numbers with one show. Then add Kimbo Slice vs Muhammad Ali and we got 20-30 mil buys EASY.

First off, I really miss my cable descrambler. I agree that streams do nullify the cable descrambler idea, but we also have to consider how widely available cable is now compared to the early to mid 90s. There is a significantly larger amount of homes with cable than there was 20 years ago. That would be my reasoning as to why we are seeing the current trends in PPV viewership.

The PPV king is not Oscar.

It's Mike Tyson, Iron Mike is the biggest draw since the PPV era.
