I read about 15 pages of posts on this story earlier today when I was bored at work. I now have a few observations of my own based on the posts that I read.

1. Those who are criticizing Mayweather because he only sold 1.5 million PPVs in the Cotto fight need to STFU. This fight was the second highest grossing non heavyweight fight in history and you haters are complaining and criticizing because he didn't sell 300,000 more. If the fight had sold 1.8 million, you would be complaining because it didn't break 2 million. It is childish and ******ed behavior.

2. In spite of what some of the gullible people on this site believe, Pac/Marquez did not sell 1.4 million PPVs and Pac/Mosley didn't come anywhere close to 1.3 million PPVs. The numbers for these two fights were never released by the cable networks because Bob Arum would not allow it and released his own numbers. Arum's numbers are always 400-500,000 more than he actual number, which means that Pac/Marquez probably didn't break 1 million and Pac/Mosley sold less than Pac/Clottey. Pac does not outsell Mayweather on PPV and Mayweather knows it because he knows what the numbers are. How, you ask? Because Arum has to report that info to Golden Boy because he has to pay GBP part of the profits from Pac's fights. He is not going to lie to GBP because that would mean he would have to pay them more money of the profits. GBP, in turn, provides Mayweather and his team with this informtion.

3. Cotto will end up making more in this fight as the B side fightger than Pac has ever made in his career as the A-side fighter. In spite of what Bob Arum claims, if it is not on paper in a contract, it is not guaranteed and Pac's guarantee have never exceeded $7 million. I am sure he makes a few million more on PPV sales, but he has never been paid $20 million for a fight, even with the PPV percentage and he has never received 50 percent of the PPV proceeds in fight under Bob Arum, even though he is demanding that from Mayweather.

What a straight up lie this is. The term of the disputed contract in question which led to that court order where TR had to pay GBP a % of their profits from Manny's fights has ended, and ended long ago when Pacquiao signed a new contract with Top Rank.

Golden Boy haven't listed Pacquiao as one of their fighters for a couple of years now, because they are no longer receiving anything from his fights.

Point #3 is also based lies spread by Mayweather, you only have to look up on Forbes to see what Manny earned through the years to see he was paid as reported. However, it's irrelevant, the determination of the split will be based on the amount of money their fights generate. Pacquiao's had the highest selling and grossing fight in 2 of the last 3 years. Mayweather is off to a great start in 2012 with the Cotto fight but it does not completely override the numbers from the previous years. Pacquiao has two fights this year to respond. If anything it gives Floyd more of an argument for 55-45, but that's about it. In no way shape or form justify his $40M and no PPV% offer, especially if he paid Cotto $30M, being nowhere near the draw Pacquiao is and considering a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight will more than double what the Cotto fight did.

The PPV numbers for Pacquioa`s last 3 fights have not been confirmed by HBO which leads me to believe that they was much smaller then what Arum reported.



And that 1.5 mill ppv buys for Floyd vs Cpotto is not the final number,the numbers are still being counted.


And Floyd deserves no less then 70/30 or 80/20 in his favor cause he`s under his own promotional company which means he spends alot of Money to fund his fights,he pays Goldenboy a fee to handle the logistics.Pacquiao on the other hand is promoted by Arum so Arum makes far more money then Pacquaio does for each fight of Pacquaio`s fight.So even if Floyd and Pac did the equal amount of PPV`s,Pacquiao still would not deserve 50/50 with Floyd.


And Floyd offered Pacquiao 40 mil cause A. Pacquiao said he`ll take less money to make the fight and B. Pacquiao lost to Marquez and that reduced his stocks.And Floyd possibly don`t want Arum to get a big cut.

Yup coz Floyd is delusional to think it's just him who pulled those numbers. When we all know Canelo pulled in 500k at least on a mexican Holiday, another 500k for Cotto coz he is a bigger star than he was when he fought Pacquiao, and the rest is MAyweather.

Not to mention Mosely's loyal fan base 200k.

But knowing Floyd he would think it was just him who pulled those numbers, when in fact he pulled only around 500-700k ppv in that fight.

So yup, knowing Floyd he thinks he did it by himself when we know he was backed -up with other stars to help him pull those numbers.

Disappointing really. He should have at least pulled 1m in there. But seems like at best 700k. Canelo and Cotto contributed with 500k each for sure.
