  • great numbers. exactly what i was expecting it to land within.

GBP is doing a great job stacking their cards with good names... canelo, shane, cotto were huge assets to those numbers.

great night for fans. another victory for boxing.

    floyd/cotto = 1.5 mil
    bones/evans = 700k

and people say boxing is dead

its fair to say canelo was a big asset considering it was CINCO DE MAYO... also to discredit cotto's proven drawing power is delusional.

why is it so difficult for floyd fans to accept that 1.5mil wasnt SOLELY floyd's doing???

bob needs to follow suit and stack his cards better. i feel pac/bradley will NEED it.

In my post did I disregard Cotto or Canelo? My point was how does he know that Canelo and Cotto did 500K a piece?

Yeah. Thats it. People put down $69.95 to see Canelo Mosley. Then they shut the TV off. Its ok fellas. We get it.

Floyd and manny fight a common opponent, floyd always outrsells manny. And before you say it, Manny/jmm 1 & 2got outsold by floyd/Jmm 1. Not until JMM got the floyd rub, kinda how floyd got the ODH rub, did manny/jmm UNOFFICIALLY do 1.3 mil.

That Manny is from the phillipines and is going to be the 4th or 5th best ppv seller in the US is very impressive.

I doubt that Cotto and Canelo did 500K a piece. How much did Cotto/Margarito 1 and 2 do? how much did Canelo vs his last couple of opponents do? Mosley was officially washed up and buried himself with the Pac fight. Not sure if people were real hyped about seeing him against Canelo. Honestly Floyd name in the sport of boxing is on the highest level of the sport. Can't disregard who sells the numbers in his fights. Majority of causal fans don't even care much about the under card but mostly the main event. Under cards are important too but not as important as the actual headliners.

Pac/JMM 1 was not on PPV, it was on regular HBO. Manny/JMM 2 doing 400,000K is remarkable because PPVs with featherweights as headliners don't do very well. It's still a record PPV for featherweights. Pacquiao also wasn't the superstar he was then that he was last November. Keep it all in context, folks.

Fair points. I saw your posts and really thought they were good and spot on. I don't think floyd/jmm and pac/jmm 3 is an even comparison given the number of times they fought.

At the end of the day, floyd will likely end up the #1 ppv boxer of all time and manny will end up probably #4 or 5, which is a great accomplsihment considering weight and hes not an american.
