And, as of yesterday Martinez adviser/manager said that him and Top Rank Carl Moretti have finalized a deal to make a Martinez-Chavez fight...There was even a picture of both of them together...Hmmm, so what are you talking about?
Considering that the when is more important than the who. It's quite easily Chavez Jr. Which in turn Canelo is more protected fighter.
Conclusion: Jr. has two debatable wins out of his past 5 fights (Zbik & Rubio) - both gifts vs. semi-real competition, while Canelo has dominated every single one of his foe's - peep talk about Gomez winning, which he was, but it was only a matter of time before Canelo put the pressure and abandoned his ****** Mayweather-wanna be defense. He was never threatened.
On and BTW, Chavez got his title by beating a borderline top 10 MW. In a close fight. How did Canelo get his title?
It is not debatable who the more protected fighter. Canelo is more protected no argument can be made for Chavez Jr...You can show all the compubox numbers you want or talk how he is a son of a legend won't change it.Comment

The belt has nothing to do with why he is obsessed with Chavez. If he cared so much about titles then he would also be obsessed with Pirog. Since Pirog has a title that rightfully belongs to him as well.
But, like Dibella said fuck Pirog because he went for the title that belong to Sergio. So therefor Pirog doesn't get a fight.
Proves that he couldn't careless about a garbage title. Is about the money and recognition. Which it's totally fine, he can go and chase that money.Comment

I think if Sergio keeps waiting on Chavez he's gonna be on the shelf for a while waiting and we know his time is ticking. If I was him I'd keep fighting whatever comes his way and wait for Floyd to finally cherrypick him when he's all slow/sluggish and make a payday out of it.Comment

It's not Arum and Top Rank, it's Sulaiman and his Mexican sanctioning body WBC, they want to protect the son of their legend and make as much money off him as possible. They are doing pretty much the same with Canelo. Look at Arum's fighters in recent times, Pac, Cotto, Margs, Clottey, Pavlik, Morales, Arce, and tell me who didn't they fight? It's the WBC and WBA which are the big problem in boxing, they're belts mean nothing today with the **** they've pulled over the last few years.Comment

I truly think it's a mixture of both. Money and belt. Martinez doesn't gain anything from fighting Pirog. Did you see Pirog fight Ishida and how empty that place was? His own hometown... Imagine bringing him to the US to face Sergio or Sergio fighting Pirog over there in the middle of the day when most Americans are working?

And, bringing Pirog to the U.S is no different than bringing someone like Barker or Dzinziruk to the U.S.Comment
