Are Boring American Fighters Killing the Sport?

the fighters mentioned arent killing boxing, they are boxing in its purest form. hit and not be hit is the name of the game. a true boxing fan can appreciate their style, a true boxing fan can appreciate a technical fight.
im not saying it has to be your favourite style but if all you want to watch is brawling, blood and knockouts and technical boxing makes you fall asleep you aint a real fan.
starting this dumb thread shows this, a real fan would know that technical fighters have been around since the beginning of boxing and it didnt die then so why would it die now? there have always been technical fighters around yet in 2012 they are killing the sport all of a sudden?
that there are diffrent styles is what makes boxing great. styles makes fights and forces fighters to adapt, you dont always know what you are gonna get. its why the fights never get old bcuz every fight is a diffrent challenge for each fighter and two fights are rarely quite alike.Comment

And the inside fighting Mayweather did against Hatton consisted of elbows and forearm chokes alongside some hugging.
You may enjoy watch that, I don't.Comment

I'm not a big fan of brawlers with very little variation in their game.
JMM can be very good to watch at times, his fights against Diaz, Katsidis and Pacquiao II are some of his best.
I hate fighters that spoil, that prefer to stop their opponent from boxing than outbox them. Ward, Mayweather, Hopkins all spoilers
ruiz is a spoiler, someone who shuts his oponent down even if it means shutting himself down in the process. someone who wants to kill all the action and do just barely enough to win.
thats not ward or mayweather. ward and floyd go in there looking to dominate each round. they go in there looking to put in serious work, do damage and win big.
yes, they are defensive minded but thats doesnt mean they are spoilers. shutting down the entire fight is spoiling, shutting down your oponent while doing solid work yourself is what boxing is all about. floyd and ward are good enough to win without getting hit and smart enough to know when to fight and when not to fight, thats a mark of a greatness. aint got **** to do with spoiling.
hopkins does spoil but the man is 47, he cant beat these younger guys any other way. that hes even able to compete with them in the first place is incredible. i love watching hopkins fight, knowing the other guy has basicly every physical advantage there is and watch hopkins beat them with nothing but smarts and skills. when he dissects a fighter its masterful at worst, poetry in motion at its best.Comment

When Ward is boxing people say he's boring but when he's fighting toe to toe and gets physical, people say he's dirty. Make up your damn mind.Comment

So when Hatton was trying to get inside and rough up Mayweather, initiating the contact between the two, it's okay if he fights rough. But if Mayweather does it, he's dirty. You guys need to make up your mind.
When Mayweather was using movement and turning his opponents, he was running. When he was doing that in the Hatton fight, he was running. Than, when he stood in the pocket with Hatton and fought on the inside with Hatton, he was being dirty.
And now that he doesn't use as much movement with his legs, he has shot legs.
God you guys need to make up your mind.
Mayweather and Ward are not "spoilers". Molina, Ruiz, Hopkins at this point, those guys are spoilers.
Mayweather and Ward can fight on the inside, as well as hit you at will, and completely take you out of your game plan and neutralize any opponents offense.
Guys like Molina and Ruiz hit you with one punch and than intentionally initiate a clinch every single time, and slow down the entire fight by holding by every 5 seconds.Comment

People say Floyd Mayweather is boring, yet he's the highest selling PPV fighter per fight in history, aside from Mike Tyson.Comment
