Also ALOT of that holding especially later on was INITIATED by Dawson when Hopkins came forward pressing forward, Dawson tied him up. See this is what I don't get, Dawson clinches, ALOT of fighters clinch and they're young fighters, yet Hopkins gets all this flack.

You're coming off a little butt-hurt. I haven't been "hating" at all, just merely stating facts. I give Hopkins props for taking this fight. He didn't have to. But I can't give anyone props for behaving the way he does in the ring no matter what their age.

and yes.. of course Hopkins will be in the HOF. I doubt anyone would dispute that.

Honestly, this just needs to be dropped, these kind of discussions are inarguable, period. The people in here who don't like Hopkins, hate him, don't have respect for him won't budge on their feelings, and neither will the people who DO respect Bernard. That much I would THINK, we could ALL agree on.

Someone mentioned he's held his whole career?...No he hasn't. Go watch his fights with Trinidad, Glen Johnson, Jackson etc etc. He started doing this as he got older. Look obviously this was no great performance all Natas is saying is give him respect for how much he's done in his career and how much he's accomplished from age 40 on alone. Firstly, I think you need to learn what a contradiction is.

I openly don't like Hopkins. Does that mean I don't respect him? No, it doesn't.

That is not a contradiction, in any way, shape or form.

I respect Hopkins. I consider him at ATG and have stated that on numerous occasions.

I rooted for him to beat Pascal and was happy he became the oldest Champion of all time. Someone of his dedication simply deserved it.

I said it was ridiculous that he was taken out the Top 10 P4P list after the first Dawson bout.

I've supporting Hopkins on numerous occasions on here when people downplay his accomplishments.

this last run of B-Hop was simply just to add to his legacy, that man legacy was secured YEARS AGO IMO

while I don't have a problem with his style, I do have a problem with it when he gets DIRTY and it INTENTIONALLY RUBBING HIS HEAD ON DAWSON CUTS and swinging headbutts...come on man this is how Dawson makes a LIVING, to give the guy two cuts with your head because you couldn't do it with your fit is just LOW

I give major props to Dawson, he showed in this fight that he does have mental toughness, despite the HEADBUTTS AND THE CHEAP SHOTS AND FLOPS by B-Hop...DAWSON JUST KEPT BOXING and he won the fight going away because of that

So respect to B-Hop of course! Great Career! Still think he has enough left in the tank to beat most of the fighters at 175...OTHER THE DAWSON OBVIOUSLY! I think he still beats Cloud and Cleverly and some of those other younger guys who are not as skilled or as Fast As Dawson

I understand where you might have got that idea. But just because I'm not happy with his performance tonight and I'm being negative about his performance tonight doesn't mean I don't have the world of respect for him as a fighter.

I would never disrespect what Bernard Hopkins has accomplished in the sport. Like I said, he's an ATG.
