Freddie Roach is an Overrated Trainer, I agree with Floyd Sr.

He has said several times if it wasn't for Manny I wouldn't be here, so even he knows it. I give him credit for at least acknowledging that Manny helped him get to this level of fame and being most sought after trainer in boxing.

But the proof is in the pudding, Roach is just a mitt guy who teaches guys to overwelhm you with punches. I never see him ever train a guy to fight going backwards, and why do all his fighters get hit with the same punches? Maybe Roach has some secrete training technique that improves chin cause guys like chavez jr, khan and pacman get hit with punches that would drop most guys, and they get hit often.

Roach has gone Hollywood, and as far as the JMM style, you know what I am talking about, they feel that Bradley will be defensive not use his same style but use the jab and move or moving back and countering. For Roach to assume Bradley wont use that style already says alot about how serious he takes training pacman, look at all his training videos with pacman same mittwork over nd over, and when pacman spars nothing new they use come forward fighters. Pacman doesnt need brawlers, he needs to spar with nothing but runners now, that is his weakness, Pacman can fight brawlers so easy that is his specialty its like second nature to pacman, right now he needs to spar all fast guys who run and are defensive so he can cut learn to cut off the ring.
Listen to me man, you have no idea of the things you are saying.

Let me break it down one step at a time.

I could train Pac and he would be a world champ because he's so great but that doesn't mean Roach doesn't know what he's doing. As a matter of fact, Pac has improved a lot since getting with Roach and so have many fighters. I think Pac is limited when you compare him in the JMM fights, but that has more to do with how great JMM is and not how Manny doesn't know how to cut off the ring....haha

Second point, Roach is much more than a mitt guy, he learned under the great Eddie Futch, he never even used mitts. Also, you can't improve chin, your either born with it or your not.

Lastly, I don't know if Roach has "gone Hollywood" because you don't know him and neither do I. Pac has beaten many counter punchers but he's had trouble with JMM because JMM is a master at what he does. Very few have ever been on his level.

His training videos show nothing, they don't show the whole picture. You need to stop watching these HBO shows and youtube videos and think you know everything about what Roach does, that's ridiculous. 99% of the stuff those guys do in the gym, you never get to see.

        Why you always defending Roach?

I said I have nothing against the man, its just when he told Manny and Buboy they dont need any slick sparring partners because Bradley will just come forward concerned me, That shows where his head is at, maybe he is slipping but everyone knows that Bradley is not a one trick pony, you would expect Roach to know that as well, yet he felt it wasn't necessary to bring in slick boxers for Pacman.

Bradley is has never been beaten up in a fight, he has been knocked down gotten back up and dominated the fight after adjusting. Nobody has ever destroyed this man, Roach better get some slick boxers now or else he will lose.

All Pacmans sparring partners have been slow ass come forward brawlers, so of course he will suck in his fights. When Pacman fought Hatton, Oscar, and Cotto, Freddie Brought in a mainly FAST guys, this was the time when Pacman sparred Amir Khan, Pacmans timing got so good when he sparred fast guys, sow hen you keep giving Pacman slow spar mates his timing is going to be off.

Roach is overrated in my book, I dont hate him and respect his accomplishments he has more accomplishments than the Mayweather trainers.

Not to flame, but trainers bring sparring partners to best emulate the style of the opponent. Bradley is not a slick "boxer" so why would they bring in sparring partners that doesn't emulate Bradley's style?

And if you can do us all a BIG favor and enlighten all of us which fight Bradley exhibited "slick" movement...

Bradley is a slick fighter, he is not a mayweather type, he is in the mold of a Hopkins type of crafty and slick.

When he fought Peterson he dominated him with pure boxing and movement. He can brawl and box.

To ask you a question show me a fight when Bradley got dominated in.

I think roach is ok but i do believe the fact that he trains so many fighters takes away from a fighters growth and its showing in the ring its usually an 8 week camp and khans cutting into pac mans 1 on 1 time pac man is cutting to chavez jr time and he trains many other fighters khan may 19, latif kayode june 2nd, pac man june 9, chavez jr june 16, thats why his fighters are not really getting better

agreed. roach was always a very good trainer, but as of late ppl have been overrating him severely. he has flaws as a trainer, hes not the best strategist and he doesnt teach his fighters how to fight on the inside amongst other things. he was a good trainer who got his hands on a great talent and since then got his hands on even more great talents.

he took that talent and added world class boxing fundamentals, world class conditioning and world class sparring to the mix and developed some great fighters. but lots of other trainers would have done the same or better.

for some reason the mayweathers get vastly underrated like you say. ppl act like floyd jr just became a great fighter all on his own. like floyd sr didnt do great work with dawson, DLH and guzman and turned them in to much better fighters than they were before he worked with them.

roger gave alot od attention to floyd and hasnt worked alot of other top fighters, but if you follow the sport closely and look at the up and coming guys he has trained not to mention floyd jrs improvement its clear that hes an excellent trainer too.

roger is clearly the most well rounded and imo the best of the three. floyd sr is probably the most knowledgable but his personality seems to get in teh way with alot of fighters.
