I still think that Winky Wright and Vernon Forrest both had a great chance at beating Mayweather because of their styles...not only was they much bigger, but both was just as Clever and Just as Skilled as Mayweather, probably not as fast of course, but they are fights that could also make adjustments during the fight, neither would go into a fight with Mayweather just looking for a KO...both could probably BOX with Mayweather during their PRIME

I think Mayweather knew that though, he caught a break because nobody was demanding those fights, people wanted him fight Oscar, just like now, people want to see him fight fighters that really don't have much of a chance to defeat him unless it is a LUCKY PUNCH!

Winky turned down a Floyd fight in 2005 at 154 though, because of the split or some s**t. And as far as Vernon Forrest, great fighter, was compeltely stunned when he lost got TKO'd by Mayorga. Maybe not as stunned as when Roy got knocked out by Tarver, but pretty close.

People love speed and power because it is very easy to understand. Now don't get me wrong they are great attributes to have and in combination can be a handful to deal with.

It is how ever not an invincibile combination unless combined with proper application which can change on a fight by fight basis. That is the downfall of having speed and power, a guy usually comes to rely on that and doesn't develop a proper mental approach.

I never ever saw the hype with Shane.

          Not at 135, or 147.

People say the same stuff about Floyd. Probably ten times more.

Atleast Mayweather has the ability to do things of that nature.

Shane has never been the kind of guy that fights like that.

Floyd is much more skilled and techinically superior than Shane is. .

At least with Floyd, he has a history of the type of things people say he can do, just not as dominantly or against the caliber of fighter people say he could do it against. He has fought numerous ways against many styles, and looked fantastic doing it all. For the most part, Floyd has earned a lot of his hype.

The stuff people say about Mosley sometimes, makes me wonder if they are talking about someone else. It would be like me as a Pacquiao fan saying he is capable of fighting the same way Juan Manuel Marquez does.

Thats the problem with Floyd choosing to fight over the hill and last generations top boxers. If they have any success like SSM had in the early stage of the fight they are going to assume if SSM was in his prime he would have finished Floyd.

Thats why Floyd should fight fighters in their prime and not just fighters who had a good performance in their last fight like SSM did against Margarito. If Floyd is going to fight these over the hill fighters he has to dominate from start to finish no hiccups or mistakes.
