No that's called smart boxing. He came in with punches, closed the distance and tied up Rios. It's what smart fighters do to sluggers like him. Notice how Abril didn't get caught with any clean shots, only looping ineffective punches. You have to be a fan of the technical aspect of the sweet science to appreciate the clinic Abril put on Rios tonight.

Any real boxing fan would be upset at this decision because of how blatant it was. Fan of Rios or not.

You get mad at Abril for nullifying Bam Bam? Why don't you get mad at Bam Bam for not having any sense of spacing? Or for not being able to do anything when Abril would put up the philly shell and stand there and let Bam Bam try his best to land anything. Or for Bam Bam coming in heavy, allegedly not trying to even lose the rest of the weight, then to top it off..he gets the robbery. I'm sure Bam Bam isn't to blame for the decision itself, we all know who is..but Bam Bam basically just proved what's in store for any non-top rank fighter.
