It's very sad how Arum robbed the Cuban last night. I gave Rios three rounds and two of those were based on aggressiveness, not effectiveness. The judges each had extensive world championship boxing experience. Hence, we can't blame inexperience or incompetence. The only obvious conclusion is corruption.

No way could Arum let Rios lose, even though he clearly did. Rios gets the gift. Rios remains a viable opponent for Marquez in July. Rios gets fed to Marquez. Marquez eats Rios alive. Manny receives a gift decision against Bradley. Marquez-Pacquiao IV remains a hot ticket and easy sell to the boxing public.

No that's called smart boxing. He came in with punches, closed the distance and tied up Rios. It's what smart fighters do to sluggers like him. Notice how Abril didn't get caught with any clean shots, only looping ineffective punches. You have to be a fan of the technical aspect of the sweet science to appreciate the clinic Abril put on Rios tonight.

oh trust me i do appreciate what he was doing all other than the clinching, if he didnt do it as often then i wouldnt have mind but he literally did it everytime rios got close, he would block for a bit and grab, i thought it was annoying, why not block then get on the outside with his jab? im just saying he over clinched and could have done alot more than just clinching

i have it 117-111 for abril...rios was sluggish and was hit easily by abril's right but the judges are probably watching another fight...

Any real boxing fan would be upset at this decision because of how blatant it was. Fan of Rios or not.

You get mad at Abril for nullifying Bam Bam? Why don't you get mad at Bam Bam for not having any sense of spacing? Or for not being able to do anything when Abril would put up the philly shell and stand there and let Bam Bam try his best to land anything. Or for Bam Bam coming in heavy, allegedly not trying to even lose the rest of the weight, then to top it off..he gets the robbery. I'm sure Bam Bam isn't to blame for the decision itself, we all know who is..but Bam Bam basically just proved what's in store for any non-top rank fighter. You can't win any more clear than that without a knockout...and this is particularly sad that it's so blatant. Lee doesn't stand a chance against JCC Jr if it goes to decision. It's gotten to the point where they only need to make it to the 12th and they win.

im not mad of him nullifying rios, everything that abril did was amazing and brilliant, EXCEPT the over use clinching, that was really annoying me he blocked then clinch everytime like wtf, why not step outside with your jab or jab, get on the outside, create an angle and counter rios wild swings? he could of done alot but all he did was clinch


i am upset that rios did not make weight and that he did not know how to effectively go on the inside and didnt know how to cut off the ring, but im just mad of the fact abril was getting annoying with his clinching

Marquez would destroy Rios. That fight is not going to happen. Why would Arum sacrifice one of them to the other when he could have them both fight Pacquiao and make far more money in the process? That wouldn't make sense, so he's not going to do that. He's going to make Pacquiao-Marquez 4 in November then Pacquiao-Rios in May next year. You heard it here first. Arum has zero intentions of making the Mayweather fight. The only reason he even mentions Mayweather is to get attention. Manny's rise to fame has been built on him piggy backing off of Floyd's name without even trying to fight him. It's going to continue that way.
