Do you give floyd full credit for beating ortiz

Yes if someone has a poor defence would you throw a rudimentary assault at them? If someone has a poor chin would avoid punching them in the face? If someone has a weak punch would you avoid walking them down? If someone has poor footwork would you avoid using lateral movement?
The answer to all of those questions is no. Ortiz had poor concentration which Mayweather capitalised on.Comment

It wasn't a legit ko thats for sure...also it's a shame the way the fight ended because people felt robbed of a good fight. Also people who are saying "well Floyd would have ko'ed Ortiz eventually" obviously forgot that in boxing anything could happen...and that's what makes that fight so frustrating because it was only the 4th round and who knows Ortiz could have caught Floyd and changed the fight around..I mean ortiz caught Floyd and backed him up against the ropes before the headbutt.Comment

The only way I see Floyd rematching Ortiz and the only reason he should, is if Ortiz beats Berto in June, and than beat someone like Amir Khan in November/December. Than, I'd be all for a rematch in 2013 at some point. I doubt Ortiz does that though. Ortiz-Berto is a 50/50 fight, Berto was on the verge of stopping Ortiz there. If he had, we would have seen Mayweather-berto.Comment

He was controling the fight, markin him real good, beautiful combinations, winning comfortably BUT the bs sucker punch ruin the whole fight (not in the eyes of his cheerleaders of course), i think he eventually will ko Ortiz, but it is what it is.
Good 4 rounds, and a ****** a$$ ending.
Credit? Yes and no.Comment

I give him credit for winning the fight. But I don't give him full credit at all. The fight was beginning to become really interesting. I doubt Ortiz had troubled Mayweather, but still, after Ortiz found out Floyd wasn't hitting that hard he became a bulldozer. I'd very much have loved it to continue for 8 more rounds.
So no. Not full credit.Comment

If Floyd could have beaten him without the sucker punch, he would have done so...the fact is, he didn't......that about tells me all I need to know.Comment

If anything can happen why are you crying about fans being robbed of a good fight. Just come out and say you were robbed of seeing Ortiz get the upset and knock Floyd out...... wait that is what you go on to say.It wasn't a legit ko thats for sure...also it's a shame the way the fight ended because people felt robbed of a good fight. Also people who are saying "well Floyd would have ko'ed Ortiz eventually" obviously forgot that in boxing anything could happen...and that's what makes that fight so frustrating because it was only the 4th round and who knows Ortiz could have caught Floyd and changed the fight around..I mean ortiz caught Floyd and backed him up against the ropes before the headbutt.
As you said anything can happen, Floyd two piecing Ortiz fulfilled the quota for unusual **** happening in the ring.
The end of the day they're professionals fighting in a competitive fight and so there is no need for Floyd to take things easy on him. People act as though it was a sparring match between chums.Comment

I give hiim credit, but not full credit. He was handling ortiz fairly easily before the stoppage, and imo would have continued to do so, with a possible/probable stoppage later on. But the fight was prematurely ended under dubious circumstances, and because of this, i cant quite give floyd full credit.Comment
