Or maybe he was annoyed with the Floyd elbows that weren't being called. Also, I never said Ortiz was winning the round, I said he was improving, so it's inaccurate to say Floyd was the only one adjusting and getting better. If Floyd was so sure of victory he wouldn't have needed the cheapshot and elbows.
Do you give floyd full credit for beating ortiz

About as much credit as one deserves for sucker-punching a guy that had already been stopped by Marcos Maidana and outboxed by Lamont Peterson.Comment

I thought he beat Peterson.
Yes I do. He won the fight via retaliation, legally. Ortiz was the one with the blatant illegal headbutt, a very dangerous move by Ortiz that could have badly cut Mayweather if he was a less elusive fighter and let Ortiz catch him in the eyes/eyebrows where cuts mostly happen. Little accidental headbutts are known to create huge gashes that hinder a fighter for the rest of their careers by making that part of their skin weak to punches and opening up easily.
Mayweather was the one retaliating, he kept cool and instead of doing something ****** right after the headbutt, he waited till Cortez signaled to continue to get his pay back and win in a dirty fight that Ortiz started. It was a pretty clean fight before that, with Floyd landing clean flush right hands and using his handspeed while staying away from danger for the most part. It's very sad that Ortiz started something like that, but he paid for it in the end.Comment
