as in the same credit you would give him if he were to beat him without a suckerpunch?(it'd more than likely go to a decision)

Yes, I do. I always rated him as one of the best dirty fighters of our era. He proved it that night.

Better a fighter you're a fan of knows how to fight dirty than not.

No. He should've given a rematch cause nothing was settled that night other than confirming Floyd fights dirty. He knows it too, that's why he freaked out at Merchant when given the opportunity to explain his actions.

it would not have most likely gone to a decision. Floyd was stopping his ass. It was clear they were on 2 different levels. Again, your talking about a man coming off a long retirment and fighting a Southpaw. Thats always going to take 4 rounds to get going and he had started going by round 3 in this fight. He was going to break his ass down and stop him. He was going to let his hands go more & more as the fight progresses

He freaked out because Merchant didnt say hardly anything about the headbutt which was illegal and which started everything. He was trying to discredit Floyd instead of blaming Ortiz. Thats why he went off

Yes. The fight ended strange, but Ortiz has only himself to blame for that. He initiated the dirty s**t with the headbutt, and tried to hug Floyd for the 3rd time when Cortez said Time In and motioned them together.

If the fight was really competitive or close, or if Ortiz was winning, then I'd have to question it. But, Floyd was whupping Ortiz and clearly winning when Ortiz initiated the chaos in the first place.

Ortiz was having his best round and was improving when it was stopped. You assume Floyd was beginning to adjust but don't give Ortiz the same consideration.

That round was all hype. Floyd was still winning the round. The only thing he got was a couple of punches on the ropes which were mostly blocked. Floyd went to the ropes on his own anyways like he always does. People act like Ortiz was just bullying him or something. If youre unbiased then Floyd was winning that round. There is a reason why Ortiz landed the butt in the 1st place. He was frustrated because he couldnt land on him

yes, why wouldnt he. he won fair and square against an opponent who was over his head, clearly.
