I just disagree. I don't think he cause any problems at all.
He probably doesn't. And I wouldn't be surprised. In fact, I expect it. But to discount the possibility of him giving Floyd problems...I don't know. Slim possibility? Yeah maybe. No chance? I don't know. Semantics, right? Anyway, Floyd is 35. Floyd is fighting at 154 for the second time in his career. Cotto is plenty experienced, is a five-tool player, confident, has been around and studied Floyd for much of his career and for the first time in maybe forever, has a solid corner. Yeah, I think it's possible. Floyd raking him with the jab, landing at will and then capping off a dominating performance with a stoppage? Likely.

But we'll agree to disagree and come back to this after the fight.
Damn, I don't know. When fighters hit Floyd's age and their style begins to reflect it, I watch them a little closer.

I'm in the minority but I see this as a decent fight. Miguel would need a phenomenal night to win combined with a B- or C+ type of performance from Floyd but I can't help looking at Floyd's past 4 or 5 fights and I see Cotto beating everyone on that list. Ortiz: a physical marvel but he's too green with a history of mental instability and it showed, Mosley: check, Marquez: too small for 147 and his style clearly clashed against Floyd, Hatton: tailor made for Cotto's style, De la Hoya: that version of Oscar who couldn't pull the trigger would lose to any live dog. I don't view this as a pick'em fight but this could be more competitive than people think. Floyd just doesn't throw enough in my opinion and with Cotto's timing and ******* jab this could be interesting. I'd put money on Floyd UD but it could be close.

I think Cotto has more miles on the clock than Mayweather does.

And I personally don't think Mayweather's leg's are as far on the decline as you do.

cotto really has a very little chance to win against floyd...it's no surprise though that some people who likes to look down on mismatches before are trying give cotto a decent chance

don't care whether it is, or isn't; as if it isn't looked upon the same all over the world. bottom line, its not mine are anyone Else's business if he is.

                You mean the Margarito fight?

Anyway...I don't think anyone can beat Floyd when he's going forward (opponent going back). The only guy who MIGHT, and this is a big MIGHT be able to time at least a good shot on him coming in, or keep Floyd honest would be Martinez. But Floyd would fight differently.

Cotto is "slicker" and faster than given credit for, but only against certain people. Believe it or not though, Cotto is pretty versatile. He can be aggressive and **** the body, he can box, he can go backwards against the right opponent (providing they are NOT faster than him), and most importantly, he can lead with the jab, and his is very underrated. Most people used to think Shane (when he was younger) and Oscar (also younger) could beat Floyd because of their combination of strength and speed, along with their jabs. Cotto out jabbed a jabber in Shane (sure, he was old..but that aside) and people forget that. If Cotto can set up an effective jab without getting discouraged at the occasional counter he WILL have to eat, it'll make his trip inside for body work easier imo. Cotto, posses SOME things that could give Floyd problems, but even at his best, with many things culminating in a virtuoso performance for Cotto, even then it might still not be enough. He's most likely going to eat so many clean shots he'll bust up and get TKOd, but he does have the arsenal to at least give Floyd problems..at times. Cotto not a devastating puncher though..so the punchers chance is out of there. Couple that with his short punches when he gets in, Floyd can, and probably just will elbow his way into a clinch before Cotto gets started..and as they separate, free right hand, lunging hook from Floyd, as usual. :|...

I WANT Cotto to win very badly and if he does, it'd be amazing. I just don't see it. :|

Cotto definitely has more miles than Floyd and it will show once he starts getting tagged. Fighters like Mayweather, however, have a different kind of mileage. Subtle because they are so far ahead of their peers. Boxing is a game of inches though and things get tricky when those punches that used to whiz by are now starting to hit you. Mayweather's style is beginning to reflect his age. I'm not sure if you can tell how much of his legs Mayweather has lost. Maybe someone should find out. He certainly isn't in a hurry to use them anymore. This isn't really a commentary on the Cotto fight though as much as it is where Floyd is at in his career.

I think we will sometime before Floyd retires. I might not be as good as we might be talking about another Mosley excuse by the haters... Meaning everyone (including the haters) begging for Floyd to fight this Champion, yet post fight people will scream that "Martinez is a 137 years old" (in Eddie Murphy's voice).
