Let's just look at this, the last 5 opponents of Mayweather, I could go to the last 10, but lets just leave it at that, 5; Ortiz, Mosley, Marquez, Hatton and De La Hoya. Cotto is no Ortiz; Cotto would've beat Ortiz any day of the week and not with a sucker punch, Cotto is no Mosley, Cotto already beat Mosley in a great fight, an exciting fight not like Mayweather vs Mosley fight, Cotto is no Marquez, Cotto would've beat Marquez any day and if Cotto would've tried to make a fight with Marquez I guarantee that most people would've said that Cotto was to big for Marquez, Cotto is no Hatton, same as Marquez and Ortiz, Cotto would've prevail, and last, but not least, Cotto is no De La Hoya like when De La Hoya was at the end of his career, plus De La Hoya never wanted no business with Cotto, especially because of Bob Arum.

All this mean nothing on May 5th, yet, it shows that Cotto has a better and greater chance than Mayweather last 5 opponents. Almost everyone is giving Cotto little chance, if not, no chance at beating Mayweather. Both fighters have been at this kind of stage before, both have experience with Mayweather having 42 fights, 303 rounds and a KO ratio of 61.9% and Cotto with 39 fights, 269 rounds and a KO ratio 76.9%. Mayweather is 35 years old while Cotto is 31.

I do expect a great fight if Mayweather don't run away all night long, but one thing is for sure, that Miguel Cotto will come to fight his heart and soul out like he had showed his entire career, there's no ducking in his record.

Mayweather had faced 2 undefeated fighters in his career wining both, while Cotto had faced 6 of them and wining them all.

Cotto is undefeated. Pacquiao and Margarito didnt beat Cotto, steroids and plaster did.

Cotto has a much better defense than Ortiz. Mayweather has power but I think Cotto hits harder than Floyd does and we all know Cotto can take a punch, it'll be curious to see what happens if Cotto tags Floyd flush a few times.

My whole point is that it's going to take more than a couple of shots to take Cotto out. Floyd is going to have to be on him like white on rice to KO him.

It's funny.....just because Floyd got that "Knockout" against Ortiz, people now think that Floyd is this devastating killer, somehow forgetting about Floyd's reputation as a potshotting, win on points, defensive master prior to that fight.

If Floyd couldn't KO JMM, what makes people think he is going to move up in weight and KO Cotto who would have lasted against Pac, even though beaten to a pulp, if not for the ref. Cotto only got stopped against a big pressure fighter who cheated with plaster in his gloves for crying out loud.

Floyd is NOT A BIG GUY, Floyd IS NOT A PRESSURE FIGHTER, and I highly doubt Floyd would be packing plaster in his gloves. He might elbow you in the face, punch you on the break, and sucker punch you but I don't peg him for a "cheater" in the sense that he would juice up or pack his gloves.

Will Floyd win? Probably, likely but certainly not a foregone conclusion....how many times have we seen some guy that was a huge favorite, think that they are so much better than the opposition that they underestimate them and pay the consequences for it?

Too many people are thinking that Floyd is Baldomir or something, Cotto isn't Baldomir, Hatton or Gatti (rip).

Head first Hatton is the only other person Floyd KOed and that was with an accumulation of punches breaking Hatton down and we all know Hattons defense is TERRIBLE. Hatton was TOO PREDICTABLE.

Cotto has far more boxing skills then Hatton.. Aint NO WAY Floyd KOs Cotto unless Cotto goes in for a kiss

Some of you guys are comical, this is easy. What we are going to see is the same old floyd taking his time and picking his shots for 12 rds, it's simple. Floyd will look to use his quickness an catch Cotto with a big counter shot early which will cause Cotto to think before he just rushes in like he thinks he can, after that Floyd is gonna use his longer arms feint jab and Box Cotto's ears off to another UD and another 20+ million in the bank easy work for Floyd...
