Don't know why you were "shocked" at the Pacquiao-Morales return. It was a "natural" for the promoters. Morales' win was as close as can be, Pacquiao could easily have got the decision. People are too easily influenced by the fact that if Pacquiao isn't winning big, and doling out terrific punishment for his fans, he feels depressed, and looks it after the 12th rd, showing a "beaten" look. He really feels, unrealistic or not, that he has to give the "fans" an overwhelming show.

Pacquiao lost the first fight definitively.

I dont see why people are saying the rematch was pointless.

        The third fight was.

I think the 2nd one is still an OK win for Pac, but yes he gets far too much credit for everything from his fans.

Basically a vast majority of Pac's fans have no idea who Raheem is, let alone had ever watched one of his fights. Of course Morales looks better to them. No matter how old or what weight problems a fighter may be facing, the names are everything to most casual fans. If Denis Lebedev were Filipino the same posters who praise everything Pac does would be praising Lebedev's wins over Jones and Toney as the greatest victories ever.

It is like if Landon Donovan or Clint Dempsey were the first soccer player Americans ever were a fan of. Then all of America decided Dempsey/Donovan were the best ever and decided to tell every internet soccer forum about how Landon Donovan is the best...every minute...of every day...for years. That is what a shockingly vast majority most Pacquiao fans are. It is a Pinoy pride thing, they don't even care about boxing.
Like Pac said they have to "be a filipino" lol.

Exactly, Pac fighting Morales is a better win than beating Raheem! Just like beating SRR is better than beating Randolph turpin, even after randolph just beat SRR. Id want SRR on my cv.

SRR is allowed an off night, just like Morales is. So long as the rest of their resume is ok.

That and along with the fact nobody's expectations were very high for Manny at that time, he was more like a Clottey type Guy back then (Dangerous for any top Guy, but very flawed)

Very true, the general sentiment here is that if pac doesnt get a KO, he loses.

Thats what happened in the 3rd marquez fight - marquez back pedalled all night and managed to survive 12 rounds, and all of a sudden the haters say he won lmao...completely oblivious to the fact that marquez' face was horrifically swollen and pacs looked untouched.

as for Pac-Morales 1 i agree it was really close..I could see it 7-5 for either guy, I usually end up with 6-6 on my scorecard, or 7-5 for morales but that is being a bit generous as i gave pretty much all the close rounds to morales. lots of people dont realize pac could have easily won that fight - it only looks bad because of the headbutt he was hit with.

Boxing is a business, of course it was wrong in terms of competition and meaning but it made a lot of money.

SRR was never dominated like Morales was against Raheem though. When the legend gets shut out like that, it's better to beat the man who beat the man.
