Floyd skilled enought to compete @ 154 in today's era.I don't think Ray would knock Floyd out, but he'd beat him at WW. Floyd's best weight was 130, and Ray is obviously bigger than he is. Floyd and Manny are both ATG's that happen to be skilled enough to fight at WW today. Floyd is skilled enough to fight at 154 and maybe 160, but I doubt that happens. Floyd isn't even a natural WW, is tiny at SWW, can you imagine him at MW???
Leonard was a full fledge WW from day one. It's like comparing if Roy Jones (the version that fought Hopkins at 160) and Ray Leonard fought at 160 or something. Obviously Leonard was capable ot fighting at 160, he beat Marvin Hagler there, one of the greatest MW's of all-time. It's still unfair to compare the Roy Jones that beat Hopins at 160, to the Leonard that beat Hagler at 160. Leonard was nowhere near a natural MW, and Roy was even big for 160 at that time he fought Hagler, and went to SMW less than 2 years later.
Bring him to the 154 era of Hearns or Norris and chances are..............?
This thinking is what stirs the **** in boxing forums.
whats with these small at welterweight, small at middleweight crap you are spewing? If you compete at Welterweight, you are a Welterwight, If you decide to compete at Middleweight, YOU better prepare to be classified a MIDDLEWEIGHT... Whats the point?

thats like saying its ok for Floyd not to fight Pac because he wanted too much money. Pryor had the big fights with AA and he had a solid name also. SRL couldve easily satisfied him while still getting the much bigger share if he wanted. Styles make fights and he already had hell with the smaller Duran so maybe he didnt want to go through that againComment

what do your eyes tell you? Its simple as that. Obviously Floyd & Pac wouldnt have been at those weights back then but that doesnt diminish anything.Floyd skilled enought to compete @ 154 in today's era.

Leonard never ducked Pryor if anything it was the other way around...Oh legendary nights, all the fans that they fooled.
Also Pryor didn't take the Duran fight when he had the chance either. It is what it is.Comment

Leonard KO'd a prime Wilfredo Benitez, he'd land shots on Floyd, believe that.I don't know if Sugar Ray was having day thoughts in his retirement or if he was still thinking about his fight with Floyd Mayweather Sr. back in the day! Whatever the case I'm trying to figure out how Sugar Ray Leonard would have effectively landed the punches on the Champ = Floyd Mayweather Jr. to be able to knock out Floyd Jr. Please tell us how you would have knocked him out as strong as Floyd is on defense alone. When it come to speed and slipping shots I just don't see it. READ MORE HERE http://ning.it/HiUa4iComment
