also, why is martinez so eager to fight mayweather if mayweather accept, but dont want to accept andre ward, who is will to drop down to fight martinez?
Is Andre Ward willing to go down to 160? If Andre Ward is willing to fight Martinez at 160 then we can start asking these type of questions if he declines.

you should watch ESPN deportes. On Golpe a Golpe it's all about Martinez vs Chavez or Martinez vs Mayweather. on the HBO Latino broadcast it's the same. even on Republica Deportiva it's the same. whenever they talk about Martinez he's is always linked to those two names.

168 is a dead divison for the latin audience. casual spanish speaking boxing fans don't really follow anybody at 168. mexicans support mexican fighters so a fight with Chavez would be huge. plus mexicans generally hate Mayweather so they'd pay to see him possibly get beat.

people may not like Chavez but he sells tickets.

who wouldn't pay to see a TR card looking like this if Chavez beats Lee

          Chavez vs Martinez
          Marquez vs Rios

that would be a killer PPV card on the mexican independence day.

I promise that would sell out Cowboys Stadium. 80,000

Martinez could never hope to be in anything that large against Pirog or Ward or anyone else.

why 160? why not in the middle like 164?
ward is willing to go down to 164.
if martinez at one time was willing to go down to fight pac, why would he accept someone whio is willing to come down as well?

when u have to fighters wanting to mix it up, theres got to be a catchweight.
catchweight at times are misleading and over rated because when u have a boxer needing to lose or make weight, that in itself is basically a catchweight situation.

if martinez wants so badly to fight a 180 lb fight nite weight of jccjr, then why not fight andre ward, who doesnt even make 180 on fight nite

            the answer --> arse whooping

I used to think this was a blowout win for Martinez. But considering Jr will be entering the ring a cruiserweight and Macklin showed the champ can be bullied, I'm starting to think it may be a little more competitive than I originally thought.

You keep talking about Chavez...Chavez is making 160, is Ward? Martinez isn't fighting Chavez at 164. He is fighting Chavez at 160. So your point is moot.

He is not asking for either Floyd or Pac to fight at 157, or even in the middle of 154. He is willing to go down to 150 to fighter either guy where both have had fights at. So your point there is moot.

                Maybe you should try again.

Interesting point. But it deflects from the original point and really is a red herring.

Question: Since Chavez comes into fights weighing in at super middleweight, why isn't he fighting super middleweights?

because he is 5 ft-10 in. and a career 154 pound fighter. Fighting Chavez Jr. at 160 is like getting Ward to fight Martinez at 160.................make sense now?
