Mayweather's got to a stage in his career where he's a star. He doesn't have to put on his character to sell his fights, they sell themselves.

I wish he would, though. There's no animosity between them at all.

Cotto has done none of the above.

Mosley came into the ring after the Marquez bout, that piss3d Floyd off and that's why he was showing no respect to him whatsoever.

Just wait for the 24/7...Mayweather will be talking all kinds of shit as usual.

The last one was funny because he targeted Oscar when Oscar wasn't even fighting.

It's not Cotto's personality to be honest. I been around Cotto and he's a real quiet, reserved guy who doesn't say much and isn't very personable.

I think the OP doesnt know what "trash talking" means.

FLoyd hasnt "trash talked" Cotto even one bit. He Floyd was being Floyd when he was showing alittle disregard but hes always going to do that just to play with his Opponent. Cotto knows that so he doesnt care therefore he carried on.

But Floyd Trash Talked all the other guys, he isnt doing it with Cotto and asking for his tablet wasnt "trash talk" so i dont understand the point of this thread

DLH, Mosley and Ortiz were never trash talkers. All of a sudden when they fight Mayweather, they're talking trash.

Hatton was more of a comedian making fun of himself. I never really viewed Hatton as the insulting type. But he also fell into the bait of trash talking with Mayweather.

Last night, when Floyd stopped the interview to check the games, which was rude, Cotto could've tried something to be rude also. But he did the most important thing. He was himself and didn't fall into the "Let's see who can be more rude" game.

I commend Cotto and now I am really intrigued to what will happen May 5th. They say boxing is 80% mental and 20% physical. It looks like Cotto passed his first few tests. We'll see.
                  i disagree completely.

floyd didnt start the trash talking in any of the fights you referred to. he never has acctually, its always the other guy who starts and then floyd takes it a step further. all the guys you mentioned started talking trash to and about floyd long before he started sending insults back, some of them (hatton, mosley) started before the fight was even made.

when someone is respectful towards floyd like cotto, marquez or baldomir floyd never talks trash. but if they start talking smack floyd goes off. the checking the score thing was dissrespectful but thats just floyd being floyd, it wasnt aimed at cotto. when floyd interrupted cotto later he even apologized for it.

Any man whether they respond or not can be trash talked. Most times trash talk isn't about getting in the other man's head its just to motivate the one talking.

Overall the face off was lame. You got two fighters who are best at fighting and not blessed with the gift of gab. PBF is really uncomfortable in front of cameras in an controlled interview session and Cotto would rather not do interviews at all cause he is a man of few words and nothing is wrong with that at all.

What I like about Cotto, is that unlike other opponent who felt they needed to do something new, different, to combat Mayweather, Cotto is not thinking that, he believes in his the strengths he has already and his battle is getting them firing on all cylinders.

Floyd acted like a kid with ADH, but don't HBO have and editing system, I don't care to watch Floyd and Max talk about Prada shoes and Cartier watches. Maybe Floyd is hoping for an endorsement LOL
