Whats with the revisionist history? Pretty much everyone thought Oscar would easily win that fight with most saying it was a joke mismatch. It wasn't just Roger Mayweather. Oscar ducked Margarito and cherry picked the smaller Pacquiao

i'm in the minority that thought de la hoya edged mayweather (7-5) and i give him a good amount of credit for that win. so i might go with DLH as may's toughest. i would probably favor 2006-2007 DLH over current cotto.

for the record, i've watched may-DLH quite a few times. alone, muted, with others, all types of atmospheres. for me its just one of those fights where the subtle mastery doesnt overcome the workrate.

you scored that fight for oscar?

      wow..

i realized i have not answered the OP

floyd mayweather is 100% the best fighter cotto has ever fought in my opinion

ww shane close to his prime but faded is right behind manny at 145.

margarito had plaster, so it's possible he was the best on that night, but i'm not counting that scumbag.

cotto is not the best fighter floyd's ever fought, but he is up there unless you are talking p4p (which real life is not.) floyd hasn't fought real bulldogs himself, not at 147 and 154 anyway.

Ben, I have a few issues with how you are stating things:
        1) Manny IS a small WW .... he has been coming in always below the WW limit. Floyd comes in at the full WW weight. Plus all those he fought recently (exception was Marquez) have fought at 154 and some came in at 160+ against Manny (Margarito, Clottey)

        2) Floyd IS bigger than Manny. Floyd at the weighin can get over 150+. See Oscar and soon Cotto fights as examples.

        3) Manny's weigh in is important to note because Manny came in at 143 his last fight while Floyd can't and won't try (see Marquez fight as example and that was several years ago!!!)

        4) You use Manny's day of the fight weight as an example that he is a WW but you use weighin weight for Marquez to appear that he is smaller but if you look at their last fight, they weighed almost the same on both days!

        5) Now Hatton was smaller than Manny?
Geez, Manny came in at 138 at that fight plus a few weeks ago, every Floyd fan was saying that Floyd fought the better version of Hatton because he didn't have to lose so much weight but had to against Manny ... while I disagree, both statements can't be right!

Like Roger was the only one saying that Oscar was heavily favored! lol!

There is a time to be biased towards your hero FLoyd and there is a time to just take your lumps and agree.

So then you must think that Pacquiao is too small for Mayweather too, right? And because of that you're going to take away credit from Floyd if he should beat Manny?

yeah, scored for oscar multiple times. i can totally understand how the judges had it a split. i just feel like mayweather didnt do much in the first half. i've watched the fight so many times: solo, with friends, muted, not muted, sober, drunk, so on and so forth.

i havent watched it in a couple years and i've definitely warmed up to mayweather's style a bit more and appreciate the technical aspects of the game since then. might have to check it again.

a lot of the people i watch with are totally casual fans and they have it wide for DLH and that could sway me a little bit. i always score rounds right when the bell rings and dont wait for replays/commentary. i think its a tight fight that depends on what you like and 7-5 for either guy is a fair score. i just tend to favor guys that work most of the round. like i always have hagler over leonard because i like the work-rate but can totally see why people would give it to leonard.

i also think its more exciting than people give it credit for. just because (for me) its so hard to score that its always an interesting fight to analyze and break down. i think if they had gone through with the rematch, mayweather would have won much more clearly. definitely not a verdict i label as a "roberry"

Not me. I didn't even comment on the fight. It was another one of those Oscar takes the fall like he did against Hopkins.
