no need to call names my man. i thought the lineage was fought when floyd fought corrales, the #1 vs 2 sfw. ( i could be wrong).

So beating Genaro (the top SFW in the world and lineal champ) and than Manfredy (the top ranked SFW contender in the world coming off beating Arturo Gatti) won him the FOTY in 1998, but he fought "bums".

And yes.....the great AMERICA. Every fighter knows that at some point you HAVE TO fight in the US. Even the Klitschko's fought in the US at points. You have to at some point.

I agree...I don't think its that more impressive but it is better.

I like the question of who's win was better Mayweather vs JMM or Pac vs JMM @130 & 147

My bad with the "dumb f**k" thing, really. No, Genaro won the lineal title when he beats Azumah Nelson I believe.

like many have already said ," it's not who you fought ,it's when you fought them" that determines the greatness of the win. genaro was on his downside of his carreer while sasakul was in his best.

Genaro was STILL the man at 130. He was past his prime-still good, he wasn't done or shot by any means man. Had he not been diagnosed with a blood clot and torn cartilage muscle months after the Floyd fight, he would have continued. He was going to fight Cesar Bazan in 1999 for the WBC LW championship, but he retired obviously not risking or fighting with those problems.

May-Genaro was a lot like Pac-Hatton. Genaro was unbeaten at 130, Hatton was unbeaten at 140. Genaro was past his prime-still good, so was Hatton. Both had only lost once to ATG's.

Genaro looked excellent going into his fight with Floyd. He was by far considered the best fighter in the division and he had been for some time. U can argue that he was on the decline but its a tough sell. He beat a number of former and future champs.
