I also consider DeJesus a HOF'er. They also have Eddie Booker in the HOF. IBHOF as of yet have not put him in.
So I consider it legit as well.
Do you know why the IBHOF is considered more legit than the WBHOF?Comment

I didn't think the IBHOF would inductg him but perhaps they will.
I actually have no idea why, to be honest. The IBHOF has always been considered the more or most legit one for as long as I can remember.Comment

the IBHOF (as i'm sure you know,) is based in canastota, NY
the WBHOF is based on the west coast but has no chief location (canastota has a IBHOF museum,)
that and the percieved exclusivity of the IBHOF is probably what give it more weight as an institution.
having an actual hall of fame you can travel to speaks volumes.
i'm also not entirely sure how it's (the WBHF) members are inducted
the IBHOF takes a vote from the BWAA, which as flawed as it might be, is about as good as it gets right now.Last edited by New England; 03-30-2012, 01:20 PM.Comment

It's hard to say who should or shouldn't get in. Given that fighters like McGuigan and Mitchell, as well as Tszyu based on his reusme, got in, certainly there is strong consideration for fighters other than Mosley, Oscar, Marquez, and most likely Cotto as well, on Floyd's resume.
I think Corrales and Castillo should get in. Genaro and Hatton are borderline to me. If you take into account that Genaro was dominant at 130 until he met Floyd, and beat good fighters along the way, it's very similar to how Ttszyu was dominant at 140 until he met Ricky Hatton. And when you take Hatton's win over Tszyu into account, it makes the case stronger for him. I just want someone to tell me how the resume's of McGuigan, Mitchell, and Tszyu are so much better than Corrales, Castillo, Genaro, and Hatton's resumes. Corrales and Castillo's best wins are at the very least equal to Tszyu's and far better than Mitchell's or McGuigan's. Hatton's and Genaro's are still probably better than McGuigan's and Mitchell's as well.
It's like the HOF has been not "Easy" to get into, but not nearly as hard as it is for other major sports. So, they can't get picky with who's in all of a sudden, after letting certain guys get in already. You can't have a double standard like that.
It's hard as hell to get into the NFL HOF. Cris Carter and Tim Brown aren't even in yet. And my boy Hines Ward retired this year, a 4x Pro Bowler, 2x SB Champ, and 1x SB MVP. 1 of 8 WR's to have 1,000 receptions in history. All-Time leading Steelers WR. And people say he's a BORDERLINE HOF player. The standards are just higher for other sports.Last edited by 4Corners; 03-30-2012, 04:52 PM.Comment

In comparison to Ray Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Oscar, even Pacquiao, Floyds resume is a little thin at the very top end. I think most educated boxing fans are aware of this though, making this thread extremely redundant.
Floyd has a very deep and great resume, you have to consider how dominant he was in some of those fights. He along with Pacquaio have by far the best in this era, I personally put Pacquiao a good nose ahead in terms of resume, but for me Floyd wins the fight.Comment

You talk about a resume being deep which means it must be put under scrutiny , then you ignore Pacs CWs which are his biggest hyped wins , if you look without bias at Mannys WW resume its a sham of matchmaking shonkys , so no he is not ahead of Floyds overall dominance especially when consider Pac has been beaten and stopped .Comment
