All you did there was rearrange the facts to suit your view. If I'm reading it right, Cotto was always good but didn't become a legit threat until June 2008. How do you qualify that?

It couldn't be at all possible that your perception of Floyd led you to assume the worst, could it?

Floyd-Cotto 2008....that was the time to get it done.

      And Floyd retired.

Whether it was to avoid Cotto or anyone else, only he knows. It is what it is.

Where the f you been?People have been calling for that fight since no later then 2005 so try to come up with some thing better.Floyd heart was no longer that much into boxing after in 2008 and Floyd was suing Arum in 2008 and hated Arum so he did`nt want to deal with Arum at that time. You *******s are gonna ride this car till the wheels come off.

I qualify it by saying that Cotto had just beaten Shane Mosley and was the biggest threat to Mayweather at 147. In fact, he and Mosley were already bigger threats than Hatton at 147.

Cotto-Floyd in 2008 was THE fight. Are you denying this?

Floyd was not trying to deal with Bob Arum in 2008 who promoted Cotto,he was suing him and Arum had bad mouthed him in the press.Floyd has nothing to do with the fight not happening. Its all on Cotto and Arum.
Its not on Cotto either to make the fight happen...what is Cotto going to do? You want him to call him a punk over Twitter? Come on now. Its all on the 2 promoters which were Arum & Mayweather himself to figure and sort there differences. Look how quickly the fight was done when Arum wasnt in the middle....a matter of days or weeks. That quickly so you cant go around blaming Cotto for the fight never happening. I blamed Floyd for a long time but I dont anymore. I blame one man and its Arum.

Cotto avoided Sergio Martinez and Andre Berto and Fought Mayorga instead whose old has`nt won a big fight in like 9 years against a prime fighter.

How is it not painfully obvious by now that Bob Arum just wasn't willing to do business with Floyd Mayweather once he left TR, let alone give him his top earners? What else do people need to see.....really?

Bottom line, the myth that Floyd Mayweather ducked Miguel Cotto was put to bed a while ago. Hell, the fight got done a few weeks after Cotto left Bob FFS.

By the same token, Floyd Mayweather didn't and doesn't want to do business with Bob Arum. It works both ways. I dont understand how people can be so one-eyed on the matter.

Bob Arum to Floyd: "There is no money in an Oscar fight"

In other words, he didn't want to do business with Oscar. Just like he doesn't want to do business with Floyd.

Then Floyd left and made the biggest fight of all time vs Oscar.

we both agree. That ducking from either side was put to rest when Cotto became a free agent and both came to an agreement within a matter of days/weeks.

Your view is tinged by your bias. Cotto was always a threat, you can't say he just became one in 2008, so/because Floyd retired, like you're trying to imply.
