well then it works both ways, cotto admits he didnt push for the fight and mayweather did at least push for the fight once. there u have it.

I never understood the whole Floyd ducked Cotto thing. It just didn't happen.

Floyd tried to do a fight with Cotto in 2005 and 2006,at that time Floyd was active.Floyd went on vacation in late 2007 early 2008.

And in 2008 after one of Cotto`s fights,Larry Merchant asked Cotto to call Floyd out and Cotto did`nt say a word.

Yup- Floyd wanted a fight with Cotto bad at 140 and 147 but of course Cotto was Arum's next star so he would never have given Floyd the chance to derail the moneytrain.

They wanted to fight Floyd, or atleast had the idea of doing it. Once floyd dispatched of Bruseles they never pursued the fight. That fight was the measuring stick.

Floyd however, mentioned cottos name in several post fight interviews to no avail.

The second article i posted was back in 2006 which is where Arum admitted Floyd asked for 10 mil to fight Cotto.Floyd retired in 2007/2008.

And look whose talking,the guy in your avatar did`nt fight anybody with a pulse until his 37th or 38th fight.Throughout most of his career he stayed in his hometown fighting bums and he avoided Sharmba Mitchell cause Hatton wanted to fight bums for a little while longer.

Cotto never calls out anyone publicly.

Using your logic, Merchant asked Floyd about Cotto after the Hatton fight and he said he didn't wanna fight Cotto or any welterweights so therefore he "didn't want it with Cotto"
