Mosley was open to a fight with Floyd for the lineal title after stomping Marg. Floyd and Mosley were the top 2 guys in the weight, the fight made sense. And it was a great win.
margarito and cotto were the dominant welters of floyd's time. not mosley. doesn't matter what mosely did years ago or in an all time sense. beating an old guy who scores an upset win is not as good as beating guys who are actually in their primes. if roy jones somehow scores an upset win are you gonna say it's a great win when someone comes along and crushes roy in his next fight?

pac was actually ranked higher than mosley at the time anyway but keep on making things up.

If Ortiz beats Berto, he still will have to go through the likes of Khan (will move up), Jones, Brook and possibly rematch with Peterson if he decides to move up.

Put simply, is it possible? I suppose.

Do I highly doubt it? Absolutely.

pacquiao was the #1 ranked contender to the lineal champion (and p4p ranked,) shane

the win was over cheatarito, obviously, but shane was technically ranked higher than manny at the time, even if he was not the better WW

i'd be happy if any of those fights happen but this is boxing so what will happen is ortiz/berto winner will have a belt and fight a bunch of bums, jones will have a belt and fight a bunch of bums, brook will take senchenkos belt and fight a bunch of bums, and all the while pac/floyd will hover around looking for easy targets. we all win! oh cept the fans(**** them)

not to mention the style. ortiz doesnt have a style suited for a long career, especially against larger guys.

                and he's been stopped twice

actually its the opposite check the rankings. manny was ranked over shane, but unofficially people thought shane was the champ.

so if facts=nonsense then you must think conjecture=great debate. this explains all your posts.

No, Mosley was the champ. I don't have the rankings for the month of May but Mosley was certainly the champ, Pac the #1 contender, and Floyd #2 .
