If its nothing special than compare it to Vitaly's resume of stiffs in comparison. Add to that Lewis has actual wins over all time greats and your conclusion becomes very weak when comparing both.Comment

Lennox Lewis says the heavyweight division is dead and the Klitschko brothers fight sub-standard opponents.

Lewis grew even more cautious after this, and wouldn't make the fight at all. The WBC finally gave him until April to either fight or be stripped. Lewis waited until the VERY LAST DAY, and then retired.
I don't know what else to call it except a major duck. He managed to prolong the agony, and keep Klitschko away from his title for early a year, and got some small satisfaction from that. He's had no more ever since.Comment

lol! he had nothing more to prove... so what! how often have you heard a guy saying that he'd give him a rematch? you fight holyfield twice & then tyson everything else is a letdown. he gave vitali a shot on the goodness of his heart & called it a day. he got all the money he needed from those 3 huge PPVs & retired. he wasn't going to make nearly the money fighting vitali again no matter what people say he offered. he said so many times i'll fight again for 100 million but no one offered that. of course no one did because he wanted to retire & sail into the sunset...
After his narrow escape due to the doctors's mistaken belief that Klitschko's eyelid nerve had been severed and he was effectively blind in that eye, {look up the doctor's explanation for the stoppage} he never wanted to face him again. He strung out the promised, and also WBC ordered return for nearly a year, making Klitscho jump through hoops to satisfy his ever-changing demands. And eventually retired the very day he was to have been stripped.
What can you call that but a blatant duck.He was offered over $20 millions

The match was actually arranged to be on Dec. 6th and Lewis put Klitschko through the mill, insisting that he come to London so that Lewis's eye specialist examine his eye-presumably his eyebrow, which was already long healed. Has everyone forgotten this?? He still wouldn't make the fight, and Klitschko took on Kirk Johnson on that very Dec night and utterly mangled him in less than 2 rds.

HE ENDED THE CAREER

ANDREW THE BEAST GOLOTA
YOU ***s musta forgot how godly Golota was
He was insane, that Bowe he beat up twice was faded but not by much. Golota was a super beast a super saiyan
and Lennox TOOK
HIM
OUT
Also the only guy that would have been good enough to be a sparring partner
for Lennox in this era is Wladimir Klithscko.
All you guys musta forgot Wladimir use to fight on Lennox undercards and shined his knob every night....Comment

Contrary to all the comments on the division eing betterif the Klitschkos retired, this is not true. Just think for a moment. What would happen would be that the levels of the fighters would be just the same, but the march-ups would be more competitive. That's all.Comment
