The doctor didn't say the eyelid wasn't working he said it was covering his vision. The picture shows the eyelid drooping and covering his vision.

I saw several other quotes which had the doctor say just about what I've written. He said the same thing slightly varied just not always word for word. That's quite normal. The doctor gave many interviews about the fight. And you cannot be serious about the "drooping eyelid". A person's eyes are often of slightly different open sizes. Very normal. He only has 2 eyes. The picture shows a guy, cut up and bruised a little, with both eyes working well. No reason to stop a world title fight for vison problems which didn't exist.

No wonder he had bitter feelings about it with the title almost in his hands. Another 2 rouds at most and Lewis was finished. Maybe by the next rd. Obvious to everyone except the contrarians.

In another interview with someone else, the dr suggested that he thought that the nerves governing the eyelid had been cut by the eyebrow gash, wfectively causing the eyelid not to work. I don't recall the exact words and am not a nit-picker. The true fact, from even a casual look at the picture (assuming you never saw the fight and aftermath) was that Klitschko could see perfectly well from both eyes. I've seen fights, not even title fights, where the eye and facial damage eas far, far worse and the fights were not stopped.

You don't remember Carmen Basilio's closed eye, bruised, and the size of a golfball, with which he fought most of a 15 rd fight with Sugar Ray Robinson. He lost, but the fight was neve close to being stopped. Our exchanges are useless and do us no good. We both have the same facts, but see them differently.

Lennox is now calling Vitali "boring" and likening him to a "circus" act? Wow... Even though at the time of the stoppage I had Lennox up by one round (...all three official judges had him LOSING), he is damn lucky to have escaped with his title when he fought Vitali. Had that fight gone another couple rounds, he would have been stopped or possibly KTFO by Klitschko. It's also worth mentioning that he promptly retired, rather than go through that kind of hell again. Lennox isn't doing himself any favors with these comments.

I don't dislike Lewis, and I always pulled for him in his fights, but after not taking the rematch that everyone wanted, and now talking ***** years later, I think he is making himself sound ******.
