Not hard? If not, everyone would have done it. Ali got two tune ups and still lost in his comeback title fight. Foreman had 25 tuneups and lost in his title fight. What's the excuse? Did it really take them that many fights to get ranked again? I don't think so. They wanted to be ready, etc.
Vitali knew he was ready and handled business against the #2 ranked heavyweight in the world.Comment

The point is Vitali didn't have to go through a Jerry Quarry to earn a title fight. Vitali only had to win the one fight to win the title based on the status given to him by the sanctioning body, ali had to beat 2 very good boxers. Not hard? If not, everyone would have done it. I know a boxer is only as good as his last fight and Sasha looked terrible but I think it's been too long and Povetkin would starch Lennox right now if he showed up in shape. I actually would like to see that fight. Great idea. Winner gets Klitschko.Comment

This post is diplomatic so I will be as well and respectfully disagree with you.Hey mr Invincible.
People worldwide know how great the Kbros are outside the ring ok.
They are very good champions inside the ring. But not great.
It's not their fault so calm the *** down. It's not their fault they weren't in the lennox bowe prime holyfield era. Could they have beaten them prime for prime? Probably have a great shot at prime holyfield I guess. But we will NEVER know.
Also btw. IF wlad was in the 90's era, he would have never got a 2nd chance
never.
that's something to remember. Other guys would have taken his 2nd and 3rd chances which he got in this era because there is no other guys.
The Klitschko's earned their second chances.Comment

Sanders beat Wlad and had a belt so he took that from him and he beat down Williams who destroyed Tyson and wrecked Vitali's dream fight. Rahman later came and was a mandatory and life went on when Vitali got hurt training. Lol at Vitali being supposedly scared to fight Byrd.In 2004 Vitali Klitschko and Chris Byrd were the Number 1 and Number 2 heavyweights in the world. WBC and IBF champions respectively.
Vitali had a chance to right the wrongs of the past and unite two heavyweight belts.
Instead Vitali chases beltless Danny Williams, and semi-retired Sanders who was also beltless. Vitali would rather jump off a cliff than face Byrd again.Comment

Actually Jameel McCline wiped his ass with Sam Peter, too. I think McCline had Peter down two or three times, didn't he? But McCline's such a scrub he couldn't finish him.

Possibly but Vitali wasn't the one who ran from a rematch everyone wanted to see. Plus, Vitali would have certainly learned from his first mistakes when facing Lewis a 2nd time, so that's a 2 way street.Vitali got lucky in facing an unmotivated Lewis. Klitschko fans piss and moan about a rematch but Lewis would have come into a rematch much fitter, motivated and a completely different fighter than the first time around. Lewis was often complacent when fighting challengers he was expected to beat easily but always stepped up his game when expecting a real challenge.Comment
