Since HBO and Larry Merchant seem so insistent on having Martinez fight at 168, I wonder how much they'd be willing to put up for a Martinez vs Ward fight. Put their money where their mouth is. It seems like a hard fight to make because HBO has lowered their budget and Ward would probably want 50/50. Martinez will be taking all the risk so even 1.5 million for Martinez doesn't seem like it would be worth it. I could maybe see Martinez accepting an offer for $2.5 million plus.

But honestly, I don't know why HBO would want to waste their money on this. In all likelihood it will be a really boring fight because of Ward's style. It's going to be another one of those "important fights" like Alexander vs Bradley that end up being a dud. Both fighters don't have giant fanbases so I don't see this translating into big ratings.

Maybe Sergio shouldn't be fighting Ward, but on the other hand, they shouldn't calling out smaller people and putting them at the same or even digger disadvantage.

Martinez vs Ward would be a hell of a fight. But Martinez looks like an idiot because he's calling out Manny the midget and Chavez the orge....one is 5'6" and is a natural 135 lber and the other is a CW, and yes, Chavez makes 160, but why not request a fight with Ward at 160-164?

                Numbers don't lie

Sergio is 5' 10" and started at 147lbs. Bute 6' 1.5" started at 175, Pac 5' 6" started at 107. Sergio is significantly smaller than Bute and larger than Pacquiao so let's throw them out. BUT if he thinks Floyd should fight him (which i agree with) then it's hard for him to use the size argument against Andre Ward. Floyd is 5' 8" and started at 130lbs, 2" height diff and 17lbs from where they started. Andre is 6' 0" and started at 165lbs, 2" height difference and 18lbs from where they started. Almost identical. Personally I don't think Sergio vs Andre would be a very good fight, so Sergio/Dibella should take that approach. Be honest about the fact that it is an option, but would likely be boring. But stop pretending it's a size issue if you're going to call out Floyd. The numbers don't lie.

A persons frame is just that, I dont know how to simplify it any further for you, I would think it was self explanatory.

He weighs in at 157lbs for middleweight fights, its a safe bet that he can cut those 3lbs. Your assertion that he should have fought Dzinzurik at 154 makes NO SENSE . What would be the point? I notice you sidestepped that question. Dzinzurik wanted to fight for the middleweight title whilst still keeping his belt at 154 in case he lost.

Come on bro. What are you talking about? There is not limit to how much a heavyweight can weigh. So you using Roy Jones and the heavyweight division is a terrible example. You don't know how to simplify it huh? That sounds like another way of saying "I don't know how to explain it cause I know it doesn't make any sense". I never said Martinez should have done anything. But if he is more comfortable at 154 why is it that he is fighting the 154 lb champion at 160? That's the part that makes no sense. And the point would be to fight back at the weight that he is more comfortable at, the same way that Mayweather and Pacquiao did after winning titles in the junior middle weight division. They returned to the welter weight division. So the Dzinzurik fight can be explained by the fact that Dzinzurik wanted to fight as a middle weight? So Martinez and Dibella were doing Sergiy Dzinzurik's bidding? Sorry, I'm not buying it. Martinez should fight Andre Ward and stop ducking and trying to fight welter weights. Its pretty pathetic.

bollocks. if you claim to be the best middleweight in the world, then i dont see any reason why he couldnt fight a guy from 1 division north. he is happy enough to fight guys from the welterweight division .......

either way, im not going to hold it against him. he doesnt need to go to 168. there are better fights for him at 154 against mayweather or cotto.

It makes perfect sense, its not my fault you can't comprehend what a person's frame is. You think Hopkins and Martinez are the same size. Who's really making no sense?

Doing Dzinzurik's bidding? LOL wtf are you talking about? Dzinzurik moved up in weight to challenge Sergio much like Ricky Hatton moved up to challenge Mayweather at 147. Both kept their titles at the lower weights in case they lost so it was a safety net.
