Floyd needs Sergio as he can then boast he has fought someone as good as his father did in SRL. If he dont fight Sergio his father will be remembered as braver in the ring than Floyd, which must be embarassing for floyd considering the accolades Floyd has got in boxing.

No one will ever even mention Floyd Sr in the same breath as his son, as a fighter. Not even close. And Sugar Ray Leonard is still better than Sergio Martinez. I'd compare Floyd beating Sergio at 154-160 to Leonard moving up in weight to beat Hagler. It's more similar, even then Hagler is still probably better than Sergio Martinez. Sergio is just a late bloomer.

I know Serg knocked Macklin down twice but a lot of that was due to fatigue. I dont see Floyd fading late in the fight. Im not saying it's impossible for Serg to pull off an upset (and it would be an upset) but I just dont think it's likely. Serg's arsenal consists mainly of a jab straight left. I didnt see any right or left hooks. I didnt see many punches to the body. And Macklin was giving him all he could handle for the first 3/4's of the fight. On top of that Macklin was landing nice body shots, jabs, and straight right hands. I dont think Serg has the artilery to beat a complete fighter like Floyd. Fan or no fan I just dont see it happening.

Sergio still won by KO looking sensational or not. He has KO power, speed, movement and skill. Floyd fought Oscar really cautious at 154. I don't see Floyd being strong enough to stop Martinez and Martinez is going to fight back. Just because he had problems with Barker and Macklin don't make him any less of a fighter because it's possible that Barker and Macklin are good fighters as well to some degree but Sergio was just better. That's the thing with boxing today. If a name fighter has trouble with a no name fighter, then all of a sudden the name fighter ain't that good because he had to fight to win. Martinez is producing KD's and KO's in every fight and that says a lot. Do I think Floyd can win? Sure but I also can see Martinez winning as well. People on here know that I am a fan of Mayweather skill set and haven't seen anyway that I could say would give him a problem or beat him until Martinez. You have your opinion and I have mine but fight to me is 50/50.

When Shane hit JUNIOR i saw a lot of determination on JUNIOR to refuse to go down,well that determination can be really dangerous if the shot comes from MARTINEZ;i predict a huge upset in favor of MARTINEZ by KO!!!

to me it seems really foul that all the boxing talking heads are quick to say which dangerous fighter floyd should fight next. and in the same breath call pac an ATG even though he fought just about all his fights with a nod in his favour. with catch wts ect, ect. he refused to fight shane even when shan was willing to drop down to 142. he ran in terror from yuri forman. only to turn around and fight a man for a title that neither earned the right to fight for. all the pac fans say how pac is too small to fight maravilla. but rave how he won sergios belt. even harold and larry praise pac and forgive him for ducking sergio. but then say how floyd must fight sergio for his legacy. talk about a double standard. floyd has said he is willing to face sergio. in a very good fight i have floyd by UD. sergio is a fav of mine but unless floyd gets old over night, his defense and accurate punching should carry him to victory.

I've watched the fight 3 times now and I've watched sergios last couple of fights. At first I was the first to that sergio would be the hardest to beat, but now I don't no. I think floyd would school sergio. Floyd would be able to dictate the fight and fight at his own pace. Nobody beats floyd at his own pace. Serg doesnt throw a lot of combos and fights with his hands down, witch wouldn't be good against floyd! Though I do give serg more of a punchers chance than pac!

To me. Manny Pacquiao is the most hyped up fighter. Martinez would knock Pac's head off and that's why Pac is staying away from 154/150 all together. I see the skill in Sergio Martinez and he is not to be slept on. He's been performing good before the Williams and Pavlik fights but people who just got into the sport of boxing only know him mostly from Williams fighting him. You think Floyd would school Segio? Maybe so but in the same breath, Sergio has a chance to put Mayweather on his ass.

I love this fight. I could see Floyd getting knocked down from a straight left from Sergio. But unlike the other fighters that Sergio fought, Floyd only gets better as the fight goes on. If Sergio were to catch Floyd it would have to be really early on in the fight. But Sergio would have to change his style a little to win this fight. Bouncing in and out against Floyd won't work. Macklin timed him coming in and tagged him fairly easily. Floyd would be able to do that and do it better. Much better.

Once JMM made a challenge to fight Jr. Jr. said he never turned down a challenge.

We are gunning to see JR get in the ring with a threat. There are only two that makes that threat.

One you say that is so easy to whup is Pac but Jr goes out of his way to tell the world his health means to much to him and uses Pac's name in the same breath, plus he don't care about the fans just himself.

Pac may not beat JR, he certainly ain't supposed to , I mean come on JR is a weight class bigger than Pac EASY mang, Pac is fighting much bigger men.

Because he is doing that I can't imagine the great JR not going up to Middleweight and taking on Sergio.

HOw exactly has manny shown his heart? Fighting bigger guys under the same promotional umbrella who are much slower, shot, or defending their title at a catchweight?
