Sergio brings nothing, why risk your health especially when it a division you don't normally fight in.
And because he's not a semi-shot, slow, flat footed Mexican helps

Uh...because Oscar was a BIG FIGHT and end up being the Biggest PPV in boxing History

as for Pacquiao...that was just a fight so he could collect another Championship in another Division

HOW EVER...look at both fighters weight when fighting at "154" Mayweather came in at 150 for a 154 fight, Pacquiao came in at 145 for a 150 fight

I think Mayweather would actually consider doing it, especially if he looks good and feels good against Cotto at that weight

and as somebody already posted...Martinez is NOT A DRAW, he OFFERS NOTHING for either fighter financially to be honest, Boxing Fans know Martinez well...but Casual Fans (the ones who purchases PPV's the most) most of them don't even Know Martinez! Other then the fact that he wants to fight Pacquiao or Mayweather...Just Being Honest!

Yes it does....remember high risk, low reward.

Please answer my question, why can't Sergio fight SOG..and don't give me that he too small argument, if you are fighting and defending your title at middleweight...YOU ARE A MIDDLEWEIGHT!!!

This is almost as bad as Roy calling out Tito.

Martinez, in no way shape or form belongs at 168.

I look at this just like I look at Canelo calling out Marquez for a fight at Super WW, Roy calling out Oscar back in the day and other fights in which a guy tries to drag a fighter up to a weight he clearly doesn't belong in an attempt to get an easy fight.

Bahahahaha this fight will never ever ever ever happen.

Sergio and Lou DiFatso are sitting in the janitors broom closet they call an "office" right now brainstorming ways to get out of this fight.

"Can you sell another Eurobum sheep herder? Our 25 internet fans are dumb, they don't know the difference!!!"

Ok Lamar Smith...then the same can be said for Sergio calling out Manny and Floyd....correct?

He's a small middleweight. The only reason he moved up to middleweight is because he couldn't get any fights at 154.

He should fight Ward if he moves up to 168 but he's not mandated to move up.

And if you want to compare it to the Floyd/Pac situation then you should wait for Ward to post on his Twatter that he'd come to 160. Otherwise the situations are not the same

I thought the toughest fight, physically, was against Sakio Bika.

He beat Kessler, Abraham, Green and Froch fairly easily.
Agreed, but Ward needs to destroy the hype machine that is Bute... I think Martinez deserves a Mayweather or Chavez jr fight before moving up to 168.

The real question is why is Andre Ward tweet should have been for Bute not Martinez.

how about the fighters in Sergio Division? I think GGG and Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam would BEAT MARTINEZ in his own Division, N'Dam N'Jikam fights like Sergio but probably FASTER and GGG would walk him down with no problem IMO

even Pirog head movements would give Sergio Problems and I think Quillin would give him problems

but I get it, Sergio is almost 40 so he is just looking for BIG MONEY, so he is PRESERVING HIMSELF FOR A BIG MONEY FIGHT and I can't really say I blame him...but Ward is willing to fight him! Not the same as fighting Mayweather or Pacquiao FINANCIALLY but it is a BIG FIGHT!
