No one said they were light middleweights. But why could they fight Oscar and Margarito respectively but NOT Sergio?

Last time I checked, Sergio was calling out Chavez jr......you know, the MIDDLE WEIGHT guy who re-hydrates up to 178 pounds on fight night? Sergio started his career at 147, then spent 90% of it at 154, he is a small guy, Ward is huge compared to him, let's not even pretend that they are close in size.

Think about man, Sergio says that he can get down to 154 and even 150 with time....you think Ward can even dream of making those kinds of weights? Ward could easily be fighting at 175 so phuck him calling out Martinez.

Sergio was the smaller man again last night and still won, so you haters can go get bent.
I think that this thread displays how most of us are hypocrites, who have no problem contradicting ourselves in order to maintain support of fighters we like or to further criticism of fighters we don't like. The fighters are hypocrites too, as they are out for what's best for themselves as well. Ward calling out Martinez puts Martinez in a tough position. I have problem with Martinez calling out WWs and ignoring guys one division ahead of him. It makes no sense for him given the situation.

However, it also makes sense for Mayweather and Pacquiao to ignore his challenge. Sure, you could try to claim that Ward is simply too big for Martinez, but that Mayweather and Pac are not too small for him. However, that argument would contradict reality given that the size difference between Martinez and Ward is no bigger than the size difference between Martinez and Mayweather or Pacquiao. Furthermore, Martinez keeps calling out Chavez Jr. who is the same sizer or bigger than Ward. I have no problem with Martinez's actions. However, it doesn't seem to make sense to give him a pass for calling out smaller guys and making fights based on the risk/reward factor(you don't even see him trying to make fights with guys like Pirog and Golovkin), and then turn around and heavily criticize other fighters for doing the same thing. Of course, we all know that's not going to happen. Deep down, we all are just fans or critics of certain fighters and will tailor are arguments to fit our agenda.

Didn't you see how light Martinez came in? What makes you think he wants to go up to 168? Didn't they ask him about this fight too in that interview before the fight and he said he rather go to 154 cause he's too small?

And as so many mentioned, why did he duck Bute and isn't calling out guys in his weight division? Seriously, just cause you're calling out a guy ranked higher than you in p4p lists doesn't make you look any better especially when that guy is significantly smaller than you. On the contrary, it makes you look like a chicken. He probably just did it knowing that **** ain't gonna happen.

Please don't be silly. Any C+ fighter would KO Sergio easily. He has no defense. He keeps his hands low like a n00b.

Andre Ward is a professional fighter at the top of his game. He would destroy Sergio in 1 round.

You didnt ask one until after I'd posted mine, which you ducked. Care to answer? Why Oscar and Margarito but not Sergio?

I think we all know the answer but will you admit it?

Because financially Sergio brings nothing to the table... and those fighters did....i.e money, fanbase that sells out arenas, good ppv record.

Sergio brings nothing, why risk your health especially when it a division you don't normally fight in.

see people are ok with Manny fighting the supposedly dangerous Marg and Mayweather fighting Cotto at the weight but when Martinez ask to fight at that same weight they call foul

                    what does that tell you??
