I only care to see the fight at 160. Sergio will need to have that green belt back in order for it to happen, in my opinion (lineal champ may not be enough in his eyes). If Floyd ever takes that fight and wins, that should be his swan song.

Is no-one else mightily disturbed that BoxingScene has censored out the use of Fl00mos and P@ctards?

Those phrases are entrenched in BoxingScene history.

You can't hide your past, BS.

Mayweather didn't ask for anything. Pacquiao initially told Martinez to come down to 150, Martinez said no at first because it was too much. Then Martinez agreed to go down to 150 to fight Pacquiao. Pacquiao backed off and told Martinez to come down to 147, that was the end of that for obvious reasons. Martinez than kept his offer on the table, this time for Mayweather and Pacquiao. Mayweather was asked if he would fight Martinez at 150, he said yes.

That's it, that's what happened. Chances are, the fight doesn't even happen at 150, it most likely happens at 154 after Mayweather gets used to it against Cotto and Alvarez. It makes sense cause Martinez just fought Macklin and will fight Chavez Jr next if Jr doesn't back out. So Mayweather and Martinez will meet next year, Floyd will be 36, Martinez will be 38. If Martinez is old, Floyd is too, they're only 2 years apart.

Horrible matchup. Martinez/Floyd would go down as one of the most boring fights in boxing history. Who would you think would play offense throughout the entire 12 rounds?

As you've seen, Macklin's game plan almost paid off by staying in one spot and wait for Martinez's punches. That's what you do with counter punchers -- insist on taking the role and beat them at their own games.

I actually still think Sergio can beat him. While Floyd would consistently hit him with right hands, Sergio is very trigger happy with his straight left hand and he'd throw it constantly. Floyd doesn't rotate enough to avoid the straight left. Sergio would take Floyd's best punches, would Floyd be able to take Sergio's best punches and remain standing?

He is only trigger happy when the guy is tired and easy to hit

Macklin is a terrible boxer yet in the first 8 rounds he was boxing an even fight and didnt get hit much with the left

Floyd wont get tired and woud adjust to the left and counter jab

How so? Martinez is on a 4 fight KO streak. He's done exactly what he said he would do with the opposition he was in front of.
